Floyd Mayweather recently defeated UFC star Conor McGregor to take his unbeaten professional boxing record to 50-0 and many observers will have noticed that the shorts he wore for the bout had the word ‘Hublot’ written on them. Indeed, the watch company and the 11-time world champion have had a formal association since 2015.
In many ways, this association is ideal for both Mayweather and the Hublot brand. Mayweather has built his persona around the concepts of wealth and a luxury lifestyle, even adopting the nickname ‘Money’, while Hublot get to associate their brand with one of the most iconic sportsmen of his generation and a style icon.
During the pre-fight build up, Mayweather bragged about his Hublot watch collection, while telling McGregor to “step his game up”. Here, we take a closer look at the Hublot watches Floyd Mayweather has been known to wear.
1. Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari Limited Edition
The Hublot watch Mayweather is most associated with is the MP-05 LaFerrari. In fact, despite being inspired by the Ferrari model of the same name, in some circles this watch is already being referred to as the Mayweather Watch. The boxing great already owned a limited edition model, but was presented with a brand new LaFerrari watch, covered entirely in diamonds, by Hublot ahead of the McGregor fight in Las Vegas.
2. Hublot Big Bang Unico Haute Joaillerie
Aside from the LaFerrari, the other Hublot watch that is often associated with Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is the Big Bang Unico Haute Joaillerie. Living up to his nickname, the undefeated fighter splashed somewhere in the region of $1.1 million on this timepiece during a shopping spree in Dubai back in 2015. One of the single most extravagant watches from the brand, Mayweather was recently pictured wearing both this and his LaFerrari at the same time!
3. Hublot King Power WBC Full Pave
Shortly after signing an endorsement deal with the brand and shorty before his record-breaking super fight with Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather was gifted a stunning King Power WBC Full Pave. This was the first Hublot timepiece the boxer became known for wearing and it has a large 48mm case diameter. In addition, it is decorated with close to 250 diamonds, giving it an extremely flashy aesthetic, and is completed by a green alligator strap.
Models From Other Watch Brands
Prior to signing an endorsement deal with Hublot, Mayweather was never shy about showing off his extensive luxury watch collection and he is also known to own models from various other brands. Amongst these models are a Rolex Sky-Dweller, a Rolex GMT-Master II, a Rolex President Day-Date and multiple Rolex Datejusts. He also owns an exquisite Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore, decorated with 590 diamonds, which is said to be worth $1.3 million.
