Hey guys, this is Kevin from Jaztime.com, and today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 31. The reference number for this watch is 178240. We'll be going over the price, the dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. - So, for the pricing, you're gonna be hearing two largely different prices, mainly because the bezel and the dial are custom, meaning that we actually have our watchmaker install the bezel and the dial ourselves. Okay, so if you're looking for the retail version of this watch, the reference number for that's gonna be 178384 with a retail pricing of $15,850.00. Or you can get something that looks exactly the same here at Jaztime.com for as low as $7,200. Okay? Alright so moving on to the dial. The dial, as you can see, is a white dial with the diamond hour markers. The color of the diamonds are G to H colored diamonds. And besides that we have the standard 18 karat white-gold hand still with the luminous tips, for easier viewing at night. We have the date at the three o'clock position with a cyclops lens on top of that sapphire crystal for magnification, easier viewing of that date. Now for the dial color, of course white is not your only choice as the Datejust has many different configurations. But specifically, because this is a custom diamond dial, we can do numerous different types of color. We've done pink in the past. We've done meteorite. You can actually just check out our website. We have many choices, and if you don't see a choice there that you like, or rather a choice there that you like, you can just give us a call and we can work something out. Besides that, moving on to the bezel. The bezel, as you can see is, same thing here, custom diamond bezel, G to H colored diamonds, and as you can see still very, very beautiful. Okay? Alright, moving on to the case now. The case is, the case is still the original Rolex case. Everything but the bezel, and the dial, are all original factory Rolex parts. So the case, still that 904L steel, 31 millimeters in diameter. As you can see, index finger to my thumb, 31 millimeters, side profile, not too high. Fits on a suit cuffs, dress cuffs very nicely. A very nice high polish along the sides as well. On the crown side a very nice high polish. Rolex crown logo on the Rolex crown which is a screw-down Twinlock double waterproof system. It unscrews counter-clockwise, and pops out into the first position in which you can wind the watch 20 to 30 times no more, as you might put too much tension on the movement and you might damage it. A simple tugging of the crown will allow you to adjust the date instantaneously as shown. Lemme move this out of the way here. As you can see there, very simple, very easy to use. A final tug of the crown will stop the seconds hand or the hack movement, allowing you to set the time down to the precise seconds, such as through an atomic clock online. You wanna set it down to the exact seconds, you can. Besides that, you can set the hands bi-directionally as shown. Always make sure, push your crown nice and tight against the case. That'll start the seconds hand and start the hack, start the seconds hand again. Screw the crown nice and tight against the case there, and you'll have a watch that is water-resistant for 100 meters or 330 feet. Alright, so moving on to the bracelet now. Like I said, it has beautiful 904L steel. Rolex in-house made steel which has additional corrosion resistance. It's a, the Jubilee bracelet itself is a five piece linked bracelet with a satin finish or brushed steel on the outer of the five links where all the center three piece links are nicely uniformed in a high polish and patterned nicely throughout all the way the bracelet. The clasp is actually a folding oyster clasp with, sorry, it's a folding oyster that has been concealed, behind the Jubilee bracelet as shown. You can see that with that little Rolex crown. It opens up to reveal this clasp blade with the Rolex name embossed on there. Once again, this is how it looks closed up. Behind the back, as you can see, the clasp hidden nicely behind that bracelet. Alright, so lemme go ahead and move on to the movement now. So the movement is housed as this oyster case back. It is a perpetual, mechanical, self-winding movement. It's Rolex's caliber 2235 movement, which is a, has a precision of minus two plus two seconds a day, has the simple functions of the center hour, minutes, seconds, hand with instantaneous changing of the date, stopping of the seconds hand for precise time setting, as I've shown you when I went over the crown. The power reserve of this watch, you're looking at 48 hours. So you can put this down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Sunday evening and it should still be keeping time just fine. Alright, so unfortunately, I do have a average man's wrist. I have a 7" wrist. This Jubilee bracelet fits a 6 1/2, so I won't be able to put this watch on, but I can just show you how that looks on the wrist there. Alright, so there you go. Very beautiful.
