IWC PORTOFINO WATCHES
One of the brand's most iconic collections, IWC's Portofino line takes a 'less is more' approach and prioritises simplicity. Its history dates back to the mid 1980s, with its design having evolved from a classic moon phase pocket watch. Indeed, for this reason, the Portofino is often thought of as a 'pocket watch-style wristwatch'. The first ever Portofino, the Ref. 5251, was unusually large and became affectionately known as the 'Giant Portofino'. However, by the end of the decade, Portofino models were being produced in more traditional sizes. Aesthetically, the Portofino is defined by its classic round case shape, which evokes memories of designs from the 1950s and 1960s.
