OMEGA SPEEDMASTER INSTRUMENTS
The Omega Speedmaster Instruments, also known as the Speedmaster Professional, has a unique place in history, having played a role in every piloted NASA mission since 1965. In 1969, astronaut Buzz Aldrin wore a Speedmaster Professional on the lunar surface during the Apollo 11 mission and the timepiece has become known as the 'Moonwatch' ever since. Features of the watches include a 30-minute recorder, 12-hour recorder, small seconds sub-dial, date display window and a tachymeter. Additionally, the models have undergone some changes over the years, moving from calibre 321 and 861 movements to 1861 and 1863 hand-wound, rhodium plated movements. |
