Today, I'm going to be reviewing the Rolex Yacht-Master 40, reference 126622 with a blue dial. I'm going to talk to you guys about the bezel, the dial, the case, the bracelet, the movement, and then give you my thoughts and try it on. So let's dive right in. It's using an Oyster case, 40 millimeter, Oystersteel in platinum. What does that mean? Well, if you look at the case specifically, you see kind of how it has this rounded edge. This is one of the only sports watches, aside from the Daytona, that uses an Oyster case. Do you see how this edge is like smooth right here? As opposed to, for example, like a Submariner, which I'm going to grab and show you, which has a different case. Now, the Submariner, you see how the Submariner on the edge of the case, it has sharp edges to it? And, it's bigger? While the Submariner uses a super case, this Yacht-Master, which is also a sports watch, uses a Oyster case. That's why we said Oyster, and it's also 40 millimeters and made of stainless steel. And, it's also a model block, middle case with a screw down case back, and winding crown. Now, which I alluded to this earlier. I said that it's also platinum, which part is platinum? Well, the case is not actually platinum, but that brings us to the next point, which is the bezel. Now the bezel here is what is platinum. Now, Rolex calls it rol sor, sorry, Rolesium, which is a combination of Oyster steel and platinum. But for us normal people at home, you can just call it a platinum bezel. It's actually a 950 platinum bidirectional, rotatable, 60 minute graduated with raised numerals. Okay so, what does all that mean? Basically, you can check elapsed time by putting the arrow at the minute hand. And since this is not a dive watch, it's uni directional, as in, let's say the time were to pass and the minute hand were to go down to, I don't know, let's say here. Let's try it together. How many minutes would have elapsed? Well, by looking at the bezel, you can tell it would be 13, or let's say, I guess it would be 12 minutes. Right? Now, you can also turn the bezel both directions. And that differs from the Submariner because Submariner has to calculate elapsed time for presumably a diver underwater. So, you don't want to have that going both ways. 'Cause then you'd think you'd have more air than you actually did. But this being a Yacht-Master, not a dive watch, that it doesn't really matter. Now, let's move on to the crown. It's usually a screw-down, triple lock, waterproofness system, which is the same one that is used for all sports watches. It has a triple lock. I just pulled it out to kind of show you. And, it has a waterproofness of up to 100 meters. By comparison, the Submariner has a waterproofness of 300 meters. Probably more meters than either of anyone watching this will ever go. But at least you know your watch could do that, should you want it to. It has a scratch resistant, sapphire crystal, which just basically means that it's very resistant to scratching and it's very, very hard. In fact, sapphire has a hardness of 10, nine out of 10. And, it has a Cyclops lens over the date that just magnifies it to 2.5. So, you could actually read the date. Now, let's move on to the movement. Now, this is where things get kind of fun, although you can't see it, but you can use your imagination, and I'll tell it to you. Now, the older version 116622 blue had a caliber 3135. This 126622 has a caliber 3235, and a precision of +/- 2 seconds a day with a power reserve of 70 hours. That is in contrast with the older 3135 movement, which had a power reserve of like 48 hours. And if you actually look at the movement, I have seen it because we often get these watches in used, and I take off the case back to make sure it's real. If you look at a 3235 caliber movement, it looks much nicer. It looks much more updated. They've been using a 3135 for many years, I want to say like 30 years. So, that's the big difference. Now, let's move on to the dial. Now, check this dial out. It's blue. I think that's super cool. I don't really know why blue is not more popular, but I think this blue is awesome. I really like blue for a sports watch. And, how do you tell that this watch is using the updated movement? Does anybody know? Well, I'll tell it to you. If you look at the bottom here, it says Swiss and it has a Rolex insignia. Then it says made. That tells you that it's using the newer movement. Simply click on the link in the description below. Now, let's move on to the bracelet. The bracelet is an Oyster, flat, three-piece, three links across. It's using Oyster steel, which basically means stainless steel. It has brushed on the outside and polished in the center, and it has a folding Oysterlock safety clasp. What does that mean? You fold it over once, and here is a safety. That's so that the watch doesn't come undone when you're doing sporting activity on your beautiful yacht. Now, it also has a easy link, five millimeter comfort extension, which I'm going to show you how to use right here, but only if you buy it at Jaztime. That's how you use it. Boom, now you have to buy it. Just kidding. So I told you I would tell you what my thoughts are, and my thoughts are this is a really awesome watch. And, I'm not just saying that, but I am saying it because, well, how often do you see a all blue dial that isn't selling for way over retail? At least as of now, it's selling right around retail. Now, I don't have a crystal ball. And, if you're watching this video sometime in the future, as in past 2020, I don't know what the price will be. Maybe it's higher, maybe it's lower, but yeah. I think it's a good watch for its value. I really like the color blue. I'm a fan of blue. I'm a man. So, I don't, naturally, most men like blue. Probably why Rolex made the watch in blue. And, there you go. I mean, does that not look awesome? I really think it looks awesome. And for a sports watch that's in blue with this kind of like configuration, I think it's awesome.
