Hi, this is Chris at Jaztime.com. I'm gonna be showing you a brand new and boxed stainless steel Rolex Milgauss with a matte black dial today. This is a model reference number one one six four hundred. And this is a brand new watch. I'm going to be telling you a little bit about this, and what makes it an interesting watch. And also, where you can get one for yourself. Now, this watch is a 40mm stainless steel case, has an oyster bracelet, as you can see here. It's a half polish. This watch was originally designed as an anti-magnetic watch for individuals who can work in environments where those heavy electromagnetic fields that can seize up the hairspring in watches. Now, this watch can withstand up to one thousand gauss, which is a measurement for anti-magnetic activity, and that's why it's the name The Milgauss. Now the watch originally came out in 1956, and looked a lot like a Rolex Submariner, with a rotatable bezel and oversize case. But that was discontinued in 1988. Now, it came out again in 2007, in an updated case that looks a lot like a Datejust II, with rounded high-polished lines. But it has a stainless steel flat bezel here. Okay, now this model has officially been discontinued, but Rolex offers the Milgauss in a white dial, and also offers two others with green sapphire crystals, and either a black or blue dial. Now this watch has a black dial, it's a matte black dial, and it has index power markers. You're gonna notice orange accents at the end of each of the index markers, and also, you're gonna notice the lightning bolt hand, which is orange in this dial. Now, this is the only model, the Milgauss is the only model that actually has this unique feature. Now the movement that runs this watch is a 3131 caliber automatic, and it has two case backs. If you actually were to open up one of these watches, you would actually see two case backs, one right after looking at this one. It's a really interesting feature. The purpose for that is that the case back that's inside this watch is made of ferromagnetic material, helps protect the movement from magnetic fields. Add to that the hairspring in this watch, that operates this watch, is a parachrom hairspring. It's also anti-magnetic, so a little bit redundant, but yes, Rolex did over engineer this so it actually can do what it's supposed to be doing. Some of you may be wondering why this watch doesn't come with a date window, and that's because the watch is designed to shield anti-magnetic forces. The date window actually diminishes that. Now, if you look at the bracelet over here, you're gonna notice a half-polish bracelet, with a satin finish on the outsides, and also a mirror finish on the inside center links. You're gonna see the same thing on this side. It's a beautiful finish. And this also has a folding oyster lock here, the planet, opens up really easily. This watch is really easy to wear. It doesn't get caught in anything because of the way it's shaped. This watch pops, but not as much as I'd like it to. I do like the feature that it does have a matte black dial which is non-reflective. I just wish there was a little bit more going on in there. Now, this watch was discontinued by Rolex, probably in favor of that blue sapphire crystal, or blue dial with green sapphire crystal. Still a great-looking watch. It's a great heavy duty watch too.
