Description

Hey, welcome back to JazTime! Jaztime.com is an online store that buys, sells and trades authentic luxury watches. We make these videos so you can easily choose the best watch for yourself in the comfort of your own home. We offer the lowest prices anywhere online. If you'd like to know the price, simply click on the links in the description below. We greatly appreciate you purchasing your next watch from us at jaztime.com Today we'll be talking about the Rolex Cellini with a date. So Rolex Cellini date, specifically reference number 50519. This one comes on a white gold case with a blue dial and matching blue alligator leather strap, right? We'll be going over the case, the dial, the bezel, the crown functions movement, as well as the bracelet. I'll be giving you my thoughts on all these throughout the video, alright? So starting off with the case, we have a 39 millimeter case from finger to thumb, kind of an interesting measurement but still very usable. Uh- the case is a monoblock metal case with the screw down case back and the Rolex winding crown, a different winding crown specifically because it does sort of flare outward, sort of a conical shape almost, alright? All giving you a water resistance, only down to 50 meters or 165 feet. So surface swimable, at best you can wash your hands, you can maybe take a shower with this on, if you really needed to but don't take this any further than that, alright? So, again the entire case, all this material is 18 karat white gold, alright? In its entire construction, a high polish along the sides as well as the fronts of these lugs, alright? And we also have the bezel. It's sort of a double-layered bezel a domed on top of a fluted bezel, alright? So the fluting was originally made for physically screwing onto the front of the case to ensure the waterproof-ness, alright? But now it's sort of a mark of distinction, so that when you see it you know that you're dealing with a Rolex. Because modern advancements have sort of allowed for waterproofing in other ways, alright? Alright, and also the case back is solid but also still has that nice deep fluting, alright? For opening up when you are servicing it. Now taking a look at the style, we have a blue dial with a sunburst sort of type of pattern here, alright? It's got a, sort of a, what they call a guilloche pattern. That means basically a very very very intricate set of lines all carved in there and made and finished in such a way that it makes a very interesting pattern within any sort of lighting situation. So I'm sure you- you can see it right now as I'm moving it through my light box that has that sort of sun ray pattern, as well as sort of these other radial effects going on because of that patterning. So one of the most complex Rolex styles I believe is, in terms of its finishing at least, an extremely beautiful in any lighting situation. Alright now, this does not have any luminescence because all these index marks are just 18 karat white gold with the minute track sort of in the middle, minute and second track sort of in the middle going through all of these index marks sort of bisecting them. So you have the minute hand and second hand sort of just very lightly grazing the outer portion of that track and the hour hand actually touching, just barely touching the inner portion of those hour marks, alright? So very very well designed here, in terms of the the sort of general visual layout of this watch, extremely easy to read at any angle because these index hour marks aren't actually completely flat on top they're sort of angled, like a kinda like little triangular shapes on these. Like if you were to take a cross section of these it would be triangular in shape, alright? So now moving onto the functions of this watch it works as you would expect, alright? So simply unwind the crown at the three o'clock position. This allows you to wind the watch. So 20 to 30 full winds is all you really need to get started from a dead stop, no issue there. Pull out to the next position. You can then advance the date by moving the hour hand, alright? So it's sort of kind of like a GMT function. So you can adjust the time as, as necessary without disrupting the function of that seconds hand. And by moving that hour hand you can actually see the exact date as shown in the date wheel at three o'clock position. Alright, So you can see that a date hand sort of ticking forward each time I go around twice, alright? So very very useful there when you're traveling just moving here and there not really sort of like a sky dweller sense of traveling, alright? Pull the crown out to the final position. You can stop the seconds with that hacking function and you can then set the minute hand precisely wherever it needs to go based on the seconds hand location and then set it up in accordance with an atomic clock, press the crown back in, start it back up and you're good to go, alright? All of this is made possible with the in-house main caliber, the 3165 main in-house by Rolex. Can't see you through the case back again but you do have that superlative chronometer certification. It's not printed on the front of this dial because, Hey! They wanna show off that geo shape patterning. It's absolutely beautiful but it is certainly there. It has the plus and minus two second per day time differential after casing. It has that center hour, minute, and seconds hands with the instantaneous date with the rapid setting, not instant setting but does have these stop seconds for the precise time setting. All of which I have just demonstrated, alright? The oscillator on the inside is a parametric- paramagnetic 'bleu parachrom hairspring', so you can get relatively close to magnets as you typically would on a daily basis which most of us generally don't. It doesn't have any paraflex shock absorbers but that's fine, you're not wearing this to be sporty. You're wearing this to your next meeting to really show what sort of taste you have at your next gathering, alright? Now taking a look at the, there's also a bidirectional self winding rotor on the inside. So simply winding the watch is very easy, just by simply wearing the watch on your wrist, right? All of this will give you an approximate 48 hour power reserve. So this is sort of an everyday wear watch and certainly with this construction, with the white gold you can wear this as an everyday wear watch. It's definitely possible and it will certainly sit under the radar in terms of you know, being out there and about and taking a look at the, what makes it sort of dressy is this leather strap. That blue, really really dark blue alligator leather with matching blue stitching and on the top and a sort of beige or ecru sort of color underneath with a matching stitching there as well. So very very good attention to detail from Rolex to make that stitching really cohesive with the overall design here, okay? And then moving down to the clasp here we have the pin buckle style, alright? Again, also in 18 karat white gold with minder loop systems to make it so you can make it difficult to accidentally open up and loosen the strap here, alright? So basic tang buckle system here because well, you're not really looking at the buckle, you're more looking at the watch face, alright? And while we're here I can actually try it on, give you my thoughts as to how it wears on the wrist. Now the added benefit of a leather strap is that you can just size it on the fly. There's no need to worry about, you know using tools to size it, alright? So I'll just put it there, let's zoom out a bit, alright? And if you know me, I like 36 millimeter watches but you know, this isn't bad because I do like that the, there's a, the integration of the leather straps onto the lugs does allow them to show up a little bit better. And also with this gigantic face, even though it is 39 millimeters, it feels and it feels like a 40 or 41 or even a 44, just because this dial face is so huge and so easy to read, alright? So taking a look at it on the wrist this will certainly go a little bit beyond when it comes to my wrist, seven inches in circumference, 18 centimeters, alright? So I do have a little bit of spacing under here. That's certainly a good thing for me because well, leather straps are fully continuous so you're not gonna get as much breath-ability as you would on say an oyster bracelet or even Jubilee bracelet or president, president bracelet. But with the strap, it certainly grips onto the skin. It's not gonna go anywhere, even though well, this is not a sports model so it's not made for you know, rough handling but you know, it is made for those dressy purposes, alright?
