Hey guys, this is Kevin from Jaztime.com and today we'll be going over something a little bit different and that's Panerai's Barometer. The model number for this is PAM 582 so before we start, I'll be letting you know we'll be doing an un-boxing, we'll review the case, I'll show you how to adjust the Barometer and I'll let you know where you can find a Barometer for the lowest possible price. So we're receiving this Barometer brand new, you'll be receiving it in the large Panerai box, it'll be sitting in this nice socketed foam specifically for the size of that barometer, okay. Underneath that you'll have booklets of information including the warranty, the warranty is right here, as you can see, guaranteed booklet, on the back of that booklet we'll have the warranty card, located there. And it'll have additional information about the barometer underneath that as well, okay. Along with that, you'll be receiving various screws so you can hang this barometer up on your wall. So let's move on to the barometer now. Okay, so the size of this barometer is a 14 by 14 centimeter of stainless steel, it's very beautiful, as you can see it keeps that same Panerai look as if you just enlarge one of their watches. The dial is painted markers, it's not a sandwich and they're all, each marker including the hands are all luminous so it makes easier viewing at night. And, let's see here, how the barometer works is that in the case itself and inside, there a small little box called, small metal box, rather, called the aneroid cell, which is made from an alloy of beryllium and copper and this box contracts and expands due to atmospheric pressure and this is what the barometer tracks, it tracks the atmospheric pressure. As you can see, all around the dial is located with the numbers from 960 to 1060. The measurement for these are called millibars. Underneath the barometer, we do see it says hPa, which is also the other method of tracking those numbers called the hectopascals, which is every hundred millibars equals to one hectopascals, so you can see there we have 1000, that would just be 10 hectopascals. So in much simpler terms, what does this mean? So when this hand right here, the larger of the hands moves backwards, as you can see, it says depression low and it says rain, what that means is that it tracks the atmospheric pressure and as it goes lower, you're going to know that it's going to be a much colder, might be rainy day. As you go higher, as you can see it says fair and the hand here is tracking at 1030, it's gonna be a good day, weather's out, nice out. And we're in California and looking outside the window, the weather is very nice right now. Okay, so moving on. So we're gonna over the case around the sides, as you can see, there's a high polish along the outer edges of the case, it also has this nice slotted pattern that goes all the way around with a sand finish in between and sand finish on the case itself, it's very nice and sleek stainless steel, as you can see that. Also do like that they made the depth of it, added some width to it, gives it a nice depth so when you hang this against the wall, it kinda pops out a little bit, very nice. Okay, so let's move on to the back of the case. So the back of the case, it has just a sand finish of stainless steel, all on the back, there's no high polish or anything, it has the official Panerai name engraved along the side and of course there's little sockets for the top and a bottom that's where you can hang this barometer from And notice here, towards the center around the four o'clock position, we have a flat-head screw area at the bottom here. This actually adjusts the hand to measure the barometer so this hand gets adjusted once you turn that flat-head, so you would adjust it to where it is fair or where the hand is currently, which is right here, below the 1030, so when the time does come and you can see this changes as it goes down or if it goes up, you'll be able to see that once you adjust it. So overall, very nice, very sleek barometer and it's just, it would definitely make a very good gift for someone, look at that. I just love Panerai's dials, they're very, very nice.
