Today, we'll be reviewing a pretty special Hublot. This is a Hublot Spirit of Big Bang but this is a special edition Aspen or Rockies edition as it was called. The model number for this watch you're looking at the model number, 641.HX.7170.RX.ASP19. We'll be going over to the dial, bezel case crown, the quarter pushers, strap clasp. And we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. All right, so specifically, so just a little backstory around this watch. This buyer's watch was made in a partnership with the Aspen Snowmass Resort in Colorado. It's one of the largest international's sort of ski destinations, or rather just resort destinations for skiing, snowboarding, and such things like that. Where Hublot decided to open up a specific boutique I believe in 2019 over there. And in partnership, they released this watch as you know, they'd be claimed, as their official Swiss timekeeping for the Aspen resort. So specifically, this one is the limited edition model limited to only 25 models that has made. So this is, this is the one in my hand here is one of 25. There's only 24 other ones in the world there that you haven't seen, this is one of them. Specifically, this was unveiled. This model was unveiled with one of the most renowned skiers in the name of Bode Miller. All right, but besides that, that's just a little backstory on this specific watch. This uniqueness of the Spirit of Big Bang is mainly due to the coloration of it. It supposed to resemble sort of the idea of, you know, you walking out of the resort. It matches, you know, the fresh powder that you would see of snow with the beautiful white ceramic case. This is a fully white ceramic case. And then also, you know, the tinges of blue that you would get from a clear Colorado sky. So you would have, you have this nice sort of harmony of the blue dial with blue accents, just tinges of white around the dial itself. Only just being actually really only the tinges of white on down itself are the luminosity that you would have on the hour hand, minute hand, and also the hour markers, which are all index hour markers. And then, it's paired very nicely with this beautiful blue rubber strap. But going a little bit more instead of dial we're going to zoom in a little bit more here so you can take a look at that dial. So you still have a skeletonized dial, have that beautiful rhodium sort of coloring from the sort of the color that rhodium coloration coming through from the movement in the back as this is skeletonized here. You're actually looking at the movement from the face of the dial. Like I said, the hour markers themselves, hour main hand are all luminous. And I actually can show you how that works, so I'm gonna go ahead and charge up that luminosity. And this is what you expect to see, you know, looking at your wrist at night you see this beautiful green hue that lasts for up to eight hours on the index. The Index hour markers, hour hand, minute hand, central seconds hand with the central seconds hand being that chronograph hand which I'll show you how to use the chronograph features later in the video. But, so you can, so for this specific watch you can wear it throughout the day. And then, you know, you just so keep it throughout the evening and you'll still be able to read the time perfectly fine. All right, besides that, we have the beautiful blue border region around the outer edge of the dial itself where the Swiss made text at the six o'clock position. The Hublot name at the 12 o'clock position. Unfortunately, I have it kind of blocked out. So I'm actually gonna go ahead and move that chronograph hand away from that and move that minute hand away so you can see that Hublot name there. And there we are. So there's that Hublot name with the Hublot logo. And then, we have additional sub-dials. We have the two seconds of dials right here at the nine o'clock position. This is where your watch is actually keeping track of the seconds for the watch. At the three o'clock position, we have the 30-minute lap time. And at the 12 o'clock position, we have a 12-hour elapsed time. Of course, the two additional sub-dials here the three and six are controlled by a chrono pushers. The central seconds hand which I show you just quickly there how it moved. It will track the elapsed time in those sub dials and will be reset by this chrono pushers at the four o'clock position. All right, moving on to the bezel now as I mentioned. This whole case is sort of made in that beautiful white ceramic. One thing I do like about the overall look of the bezel and case is just these sort of contrasting lines. It gives it a nice sharp, you know, a nice sharp look to it and it makes it look much more interesting and appealing to look at for the general architecture of the watch itself. Otherwise, just having a smooth would just be a little bit too boring. So having that little sort of depth, you know, definitely raised bezels, a nice hard edges it makes it much more appealing to look at. Overall, besides that, of course, we have HH screws on the case itself As its case is, you know, screw down by two ceramic plates put together with the movement into center. And that HH crews are pretty important not only just for, obviously, the construction of the case, but also to add a nice little contrast to the ceramic itself, just giving it a nice little pop of shine, breaking the monotony of just being completely white ceramic. So it sort of breaks it into like nice little sections and also gives it a nice little touch of shine as well. So it makes them much more appealing to the eye overall in terms of that sort of consistency. All right, moving on to the case size now. So the case, the case itself, again, I'm gonna say it's the white ceramic case, the case itself, I believe, it's a 48, 43 across, or sorry, 42 across. So from side to side from side to side is 42. It's 42 millimeters across. So it does wear a little bit larger than a typical watch but still it's still nicely, you know, still nicely sort of curve, the case itself sort of curved, as you can see, almost like a little sandwich here. But this curve of portion will sound the top of your wrist and will feel comfortable on top of the wrist. Overall, the high profile of course, it will be just a little bit larger of a profile for your typical watch. It's a 14-millimeter height. So will fit a little bit high off the wrist. The water resistance of this watch looking at 10, 10 ATMs or 100 meters. All right, moving on to the crown functions. I just wanna go ahead and show you the crown functions here. So on the three o'clock position where most of the crowns are located, you're unwinding counterclockwise that's shown. In a standard position, you could wind the watch by up to 15 to 20 winds is all you need to get the watch hour once more from the desktop. Pulling the crown to the next position will allow you to adjust the hands bi-directionally so you can see both hands move, of course, the central seconds hand does not move so there. And then, pulling the crown to the final position will allow you to adjust the date. You can see the date wheel is actually around the very outer edge of the dial. And you can see the actual mechanisms turning to be able to change the date, which is quite interesting to look at. You can see the little cog sort of shifting around that date. And of course, always make sure screw the crown nice and tight and against the case as you want to keep the swatch of water resistance as I mentioned, the 100 meters. The chronograph functions are very simple. Two o'clock pusher starts it, two o'clock pusher stops it. Four o'clock position pusher resets that central second hand back to that 12 o'clock position, along with the two sub-dials as well. Moving on to the strap now, the strap is just a simple blue rubber strap. Nicely textured down the center and embraced just a little bit but tapered very beautifully overall. Once again, keeping that sort of that look of the, you know, blue Colorado sky with that fresh white. Going all the way down, we have the Hublot name on the clasp itself. And then, all the way to the other side you can see that beautiful texture and the rubber strap. Clasp is very simple to use. You just simply press these two, opens up very simple. And then, you can adjust the size of the strap just by simply shifting this pin and push in. And then, you'll be able to just simply close out on top. Very easy to use. All right, now, let me show you the back of the case. So here is the case back. You can see beautiful movement exhibition style case packing. See the Hublot Special Edition Spirit of Big Bang on the right and you can see very very beautiful movement with his jewels with the rhodium coloration and the Hublot oscillator. This is the oscillator right here. This is what keeps the watch going on your wrist since this is automatic watch. And it's continuously winding, you know, keep your watch wind as with the kinetic movements of your wrist. Of course, this is also a Sapphire case back Sapphire case backing for that. The movement itself is a Hublot 4700 in-house manufacturing movement by Hublot a self-winding chronograph movement. All right. Okay, now let me actually go ahead and show you this watch on my wrist. So I'm gonna go ahead and open up that deployment, close that up and there we are. The Spirit of Big Bang from Hublot usually in titanium. It actually this special edition is actually just absolutely gorgeous. That ceramic just looks very nice on the face of the watch being paired with that sort of dark blue from the dial and paired with that nice blue rubber strap just looks absolutely gorgeous in contrast to each other.
