We greatly appreciate if you purchase your next watch from us at jaztime.com Today, we'll be talking about a limited edition, very rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph model number 2 6 3 2 6 S T dot 0 0 dot D 0 2 7 C A dot 0 1 All right. Now I wanted to start this by looking at the box here. It's certainly a limited edition Swiss made Royal Oak. All right. So taking a look at how this is set up, this is very different. It has the tri-color of the Italian flag on the box. And when you open it up, you do have the watch inside offset to the left. And if you were to purchase it with a separate strap, like let's see one that we have on hand here, like say a black leather strap that would be also included in the right side there. All right. So taking a look at the watch here, this is not necessarily an unboxing, but it may as well be all right. So this is essentially what you get the limited edition Royal Oak chronograph Swiss made. All right, now, taking a closer look at this. We have the entire case entirely in stainless steel. That's the bezel and the case sides along with the back as well. The back also has an engraving saying the limited edition Swiss made on the back quite different from the standard Royal Oaks and the Royal Oak chronographs. And they also show the edition number out of 500. All right. All right. And now we're all we're looking at the case. This case is 41 millimeters from finger to thumb. It is a bit on the larger side, but certainly, you know, extremely wearable. All right. It has a water resistance of 50 meters. Thanks to the glare proofed scratch-resistant Sapphire crystal with the, with the bezel, holding it in place that nice thin gasket precision placed and made with the water tight seal on the case back as well. And also while you have the crown and the kroner pushers screwed in all the way, the case is only 11 millimeters thick. So it can actually double very well as a dress watch. Should you so desire. All right now, taking a look at this bezel here. It is high polished along the sides there, as you can see, and brush finished on the top with the eight hexagonal screws, as you would expect to see from any Audemars Piguet. Royal Oak Royal Oak chronograph, Royal Oak offshore, et cetera. All right. Literally every broad surface is a that's set in steel finish with those tiny accents on the sides there with a high polish, very, very nice attention to detail as always for a Audemars Piguet. All right, now, moving in to the dial there it is a silver tone dial with a ground teepee surrey pattern with blue counters, the sub dials and the outer zone as you can see there, all right, as I move it throughout my light box, you can see that there's a blue area just outside those index markers. And those that's essentially the minute track for the minute hand, as you can see there, right? And as I move it in the light, you can also see that sunrise patterning within each of the sub dials, all the same size, the three, six, and nine positions. The six o'clock sub dial is the small seconds hand while the three and nine are the 30 minute and 12 hour kroner measurement hands, as you can see respectively, all right, the ground teepee surrey pattern actually does have tiny waves just emanating from the center and all of those sub dials. Along with those little channels between, you know, all between any two rows or any two columns of that, of those raised squares, you can actually see their tiny waves and those to actually give this a Sunray finish as well, a little bit harder to see as it is white or a silvered white dial, but that Sunray pattern is still there subtle, but noticeable and talking about subtlety. And noticeably we also have on that sub registered the 30 minute suffrage or for the chronograph you'll also notice very much like that of the box there. We've got the tri color of the Italian flag. We also have the tri color of the Italian flag, same colors, same positioning, red, green, and white respectively for 10 20 and 30 minutes. All right, now, taking a look at how this all works. Well, it works as you would expect, simply unwind the crown to the first position and you can wind the watch, no issue there, right? You can then pull out to the position and you can advance the date. It's about a half turn. So the throw for advancing the date is rather on the large side, but you know, you're probably not going to be advancing the date all that frequently. All right. So say you get to the 28th of the month, say it's February 28th and the next day would happen to be March 1st. You can then just advance the date by rotating it just to just a few times. All right, now, pull out the crown to the final position and you can actually then move the minute hand as necessary. All right. Keep in mind that the seconds hand is still going in there. So you can't exactly hack the seconds hand, but you know, you can still get it within reasonable timing there, right. Be sure to wind that crown directly back against the case for that superior water resistance. And also while we're here, the crown is also betwixt these chronograph pushers, which must also be unwound very much like a Rolex Daytona chronograph pusher, right. They must unwound first in order for you to actually begin them. Right. And the actuation is actually, it feels a little bit higher than what I'm used to feeling. All right. So you don't actually have to press down that hard to get it working, to get it started or stopped. And that first pusher is what starts and stops that chronograph hand center mounted. And thanks to the internal column wheel, you can actually keep that running as a large center mounted seconds hand, right? So all you need to do is just wait for that seconds hand at the small sub register at the six o'clock to match up, get it started. And there you go. You can leave it running for as long as your watch has charged. All right. And keep in mind that, you know, once you stop it, you can then reset it instantly. Sub registers all reset along with the center mount a chronograph hand. Right. And be sure if you are getting close to water to wind those back in tightly to maintain that 50, meter water resistance. All right. So what makes all of that work? And it's the self winding caliber, 2385 inside the case. Unfortunately, you can't see it through the back, but as a 26.2 millimeter or 11 and a half line diameter with a frequency of three Hertz or 21,600 vibrations per hour, it has a mono block in 18 carat gold oscillator weight with 37 jewels. All right. It has an annular balance spring with a mobile stud to hold it down. It has a unit directional winder for that oscillator. So you can only really wind it about half as much as you can, a bi-directional, but you know, honestly that is actually good enough just having the unidirectional whining. If you were to wear this every day, you would have no problem with the 40 hour power reserve, assuming that you just wind this to its full power and then set it down and it'll be good for 40 hours until you have to pick it back up again and wind it all right. And the functions as I have demonstrated, allow for that chronograph hours, minutes and small seconds, and the date at the four 30 to all be changed together, or, you know, depending on the function independently of each other. Alright. All of that totals to 300 for internal parts. All right. So now looking at this bracelet here, it's more of a strap a rubber strap matching that of the box there. A cobalt navy blue, all right. Moving down to the older style move of RPA, folding clasp. simply pull it open. And there you go. It has the AP pattern structure letter form structure for its class. All right. And you can actually adjust the strap by simply pulling on it, loosening it and punching it through any of these notches. Right? So I'm just going to take a stab at what I think is my size there. All right. And while we're here, I can also try it on for you and see how it wears on the wrist. Now, keep in mind that in order for this to work, you must have the curved side that goes along with the curvature of your wrist, wrestling against your wrist first, and then you can fold it over and clasp it nice and easy. It a single sided deployment clasp. So if you want to wear this snug, or if you have a smaller wrist, you could run into some issues, but I haven't seen any because it is actually quite a wide arc for that internal AP folding clasp. So no sense of discomfort there. And thanks to that wide arc, it actually does allow the watch to actually sort of have the strap sort of flare out a bit, which actually does help a lot with the breathability, right? And breathability is essential when you're wearing this as a sports watch, say, you're going for a jog and you're timing yourself. Well, that would be an excellent feature to have having breathable, you know, strap areas. The notches also help a slight bit, but having the bracelet, the, the strap essentially flare out from that, you know, lug to lug width, I believe it's 52 millimeters. Yeah. 52 millimeter lug to lug distance and height. You know, it makes the, gives the case, you know, quite a big stance on the wrist. You certainly have risk presence with this only when it comes to height, it feels more like a 42 or 44, but at a diameter 41, you know, I can't complain. And certainly with the way that it flares out, you do actually get a good ratio of case to strap while wearing this. All right. So who is this for? Well, certainly for one of the 500 people who are lucky enough to get one of these, and I believe it was, it's a, it's an homage really to the Italian market, the ones who actually really appreciate the horology and the horological, you know, engineering that goes into Swiss watches such as this, and, you know, Audemar Piguet have really, really knocked it out of the park with this one, very, very subtle differences from the non-limited additions, but all those little things, when you look at it, close up, make it very nice, right? Especially that outer track for that dial with a sort of sunken in there behind the index markers, by the way, 18 karat, white gold with luminescence applied. And actually, while I'm here, I can actually show you what it's like in the dark. All right. And you can still see it lights up just as brilliantly as any of the newer models. All right. Double index marker for the 12 single markers for the rest. It has a very nice dressy appearance, but with all the functions that you would expect from a sports watch. So this sort of bridges, the, Audemar Piguet, like the Royal Oaks and the Royal Oak offshore is really, it has the best of both worlds, especially with that flairy rubber strap. All right. That's also actually very, very pliant. It gives it that flexibility so that, you know, it will certainly fit on just about any wrist. So enough of what I think, what do you think about this watch?
