Today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Yacht-Master. And this is the model number 126621. Once again, that's the Yacht-Master 40, meaning the 40 millimeter style Yacht-Master. We'll be going over the dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp. And we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. So jumping right into the dial, you see we have a beautiful matte black dial, juxtaposed by the nice contrasting of red lettering of the yacht-master name at the six o'clock position. We also have the additional white texts that contrast very well as again. The superlative chronometer officially certified, meaning that this watch is in within the specs of minus two plus two seconds a day at the six at the 12 o'clock position we have the Rolex name and a nice gilded sort of lettering. And also the crown has the crown as well. And this sort of gilded, gilded sort of text all contrasting very nicely against that matte black dial. If you're not interested in the matte black dial, however this yacht-master does come in a a different variation and that's the chocolate dial, meaning that those watches in a sort of a Brown dial with a sunburst feature, a sunburst feature instead of this sort of matte flat coloration. But besides that, this is as typical as any sports watch you would see in the Rolex line where we have the maxi, maxi style dial which is the circle of hour markers. Index at the six o'clock, nine o'clock position and triangular, a triangle or 12 o'clock position marker. They're all fashioned in 18 karat everose gold everose gold, being the sort of pinkish gold that you see used throughout the watch on the brace, the middle of the bracelet here on the bezel and around the hour markers themselves even on the Mercedes style hour hands and the minute hand and on the second hand as well as Rolex's unique way of dealing with the issues of Rose gold in general, that a little of mixture into the Rose gold to keep this nice coloration of that pink throughout his lifetime. Whereas other brands sometimes, whereas other brands sometimes their Rose golds tends to fade over time. So they might start off with a nice strong reddish hue but slowly start to fade over time. Whereas Rolex, this is what, what you see is what you get. And this is what you'll get throughout your lifetime is that beautiful Rose gold coloration besides that at a three o'clock position we have your typical day window with the Cyclops lens that protrudes above that Sapphire crystal for magnification and easier viewing of that date. All right, moving on now to the bezel the bezel is a bi-directional bezel, as you can see can shift both left and right as other, other pieces such as the diver series of the submariner deep season such they're usually uni directional where you can only turn to the left and cannot move back. The yacht-master, you have the freedom of moving the bezel bi-directionally so both left and right. And of course the bezel itself is used to track elapsed time by shifting the 12 o'clock position triangular marker to the minute hand position. And then you can track the elapsed time from the minute hand as it goes throughout the bezel. You see the Arabic numerations of the 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 and indencies for every odd number rather every five minute increments of 5, 15, 25 and so on and so forth. All right. Moving on to the case size now. The case size, as I already stated is a yacht-master 40. So this is a 40 millimeter case size from my index finger to my thumb here. That's 40 millimeters in diameter. Beautifully high-polished on the tops of the lugs bottoms of the lugs, and even on the, even on the side of the side of the case here you can see nicely, beautifully high-polished and also the the profile of the watch. Well, it does look a little, a little bit a little bit large for a 40 millimeter. It's actually much thinner than the previous model. The previous model was the 1166, 116621 but as Rolex does with the deals, similar to the DHS line they've slimmed down the lugs to give a nice more sleek profile to the overall profile to the height of the watch, to give a better profile overall instead of having to be a large protrusion from the top of your wrist and now sits elegantly on the top of your wrist. This is the other side of the watch, of course with the crown protectors and the high Polish as well with the crown logo on the crown itself the triple dot indencies indicate that this is a trip lock triple waterproofness system and I'll show you how that works now by unwinding the crown counterclockwise as shown you'll see the crown is currently set to the center position. This is where you can wind your watch about 15 to 20 clockwise turns. That's all you need to get the watch started once more from a dead stop. Pulling the crown out to the next position are actually, let me go ahead and shift it another position over just to move that minute hand out of the way. So in the next position, you'll be able to adjust the date very easily instantaneously. As you can see at the three o'clock position you can shift through the dates very quickly however you like. And then in the final position you'll be able to adjust the hands by directionally and set the time however you like. Of course, the second sound will stop or the hacking movement will stop because you can see I have stopped at right after the six o'clock position at the seven o'clock position. This allows for precise time setting such as to an atomic clock online, you can set it down set the watch to the exact seconds, of course pressing the crown back in will start that second time once more. And always make sure to screw the crown nice and tight and against the case, as you want to keep this watch water resistant specifically for this yacht-master you're looking at a water resistance of 100 meters or 330 feet which is sort of the standard water resistance that you would see in most Rolex watches specifically the dress watches and such like the date just pretty much the whole DHS line. All right, let me go onto the bracelet now this is a two-tone style watch. As you can see two different, two different tones of color everose gold down to the center and a very beautiful high polish. A satin finish on the outer, the three-piece links. This is the ORSA style bracelet. It does not come with any other style bracelet and you can see beautiful brush finished contrasting very nicely against that high polish down the center. As I continue throughout the bracelet you can see it travels on the clasp as well. Clasp is a nice safety folding oyster lock which I'll show you here in a second. As I want to show you the rest of the bracelet you can see the beautiful tapering from the for the first three links down to the back and it matches out and it evens out towards the bottom As that's the part that sits underneath your wrist and isn't quite as seen. But if you do decide to take a look here at your clasp you can see beautiful, elegant, beautiful, elegant clasp beautiful finish on that side on the outer edges high polish in the center. Okay. This is a safety folding oyster lock once again. So that safety lock right here that sits on top of the folding oyster. Opens up to reveal these nice really high Polish class blades. You can see very beautiful Rolex name embossed onto that high polish of the clasp there. For the specific, for Rolex specifically that has the easy link adjustment which is here right underneath the clasp. And of course you can also adjust it, adjust it with a tool as you'll see a little indentation behind the clasp itself and that allows for a five millimeter increment adjustments with a tool. And of course the true easy link is actually located here. As you can see, this is with the easy link out but this last link can fold onto itself in closing. So this is just a small micro adjustment that you can do such as hot days when your wrist swells up and you need a little more breathing room for your wrists. You can open up that easy link and then vice versa. If it's colder, you know, wrist not wrist is not as big, then you can close it up and have a little tighter feel on your wrist as well. All right, so the movement is housed in this case oyster style case backing. As you can see beautiful high polish on the center. Satin finish on the edge that sits on your sits on top of your wrist. For the movement itself, it was updated from the previous model. Again, once again, the previous model was a 116621, which ran a 31 35 movement but now Rolex has moved on to their new updated movement which is a 32 35 movement. And so it's still a perpetual mechanical self winding movement. It has the same precision to -2 plus 2 seconds a day. So within Swiss backs has the functions of the hour, minute and seconds hand, of course instantaneous changing of the date and stopping at a second time for precise time setting as I've shown you what the crown functions the oscillator is a paramagnetic blue pair chrome hairspring which adds those, which adds resistance against magnetism. And two things. The two main changes that happened in this movement specifically is that the change the, that Rolex is trying to move to more in-house made parts. So you have different shock absorbers where the industry standard shock absorbers were the caveat shock absorbers that were used in at 31 35 but now we're using a Rolex's in-house made shock absorbers which is the perfleck shock absorbers which they claim Missouri's 50% more shocks than that KF shock absorbers. Not only that we have a different I believe we have a different escapement as well. They call it the chronology escapement. That's, it's an escapement wheel made of our Rolex of course that skeletonized to reduce, to reduce inertia to for precise time setting and also energy efficiency. The escape mint is also made out of a nickel nickel phosphors which pairs with a paramagnetic booth hair comb hairspring and aiding in resistance against magnetism which is important because if you're watching does get magnetized it does it cause it to run erratically and then you'll have to get it de-magnetize at your local watchmaker. But besides that, the power reserve has also been updated from a 48 hour power reserve to a 70 hour power reserve meaning that this watch can be put down on a Friday evening picked back on a Monday afternoon when you go back to work and it will be keeping time just fine. All right. Now, let me show you this watch on my wrist. I'm going to locate that folding oyster open it up, close that up. As you can see there's still a little bit of room, little room on my wrist. I've an average sized wrist of a seven inch wrist and you can see it's a very beautiful watch overall. The two tone of the everose gold on the steel works beautifully. I love the dial specifically it is a matte black dial which some people aren't a fan of. They're used to that sort of sunbursty some bustling coloration that you would see on typical Rolex sports pieces. But this one has the matte black which works very nicely with the texts that they have there. Remember the gilded golden Rolex text with their crown the yacht-master name in the red it's absolutely magnificent.
