Hey guys this is Kevin from JazTime.com And today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Sky-Dweller, newly released at the Basalworld 2017 show. The reference number for this watch is 326 933. We'll be going over the price, the dial, bezel, crown, case, bracelet, clasp, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. So as of November 2017, you can currently get this watch at a Rolex retailer for $17,150. However, because this is a newly released watch, it is much harder to get, so our pricing here at JazTime.com, you're looking at $19,000 as this watch is really high in demand. And very hard to find at the moment, so the pricing will reflect that. Okay, moving on to the dial now. So, for the dial, specifically the dial color, I have the white dial in my hand. It only comes in two more colors than that. So, we have the white, black and champagne dial. Luckily for you today, I do have the black dial as well, so you can take a look of the black dial and the white dial. Okay, so for the hour markers, we're looking at index hour markers, that are fashioned in 18 karat yellow gold to prevent any tarnishing. The index hour markers themselves, they do glow in the dark with a highly legible Chromalight display with long lasting blue luminescence. That glows for up to eight hours. That same could be said about the hands as well, as the hour and the minute hands have that same luminous tippings, while also made out of 18 karat yellow gold. However, the closest to the base of the hands, the minute and the hour hands, you can see that it's a little bit of skeletonization, and that's to allow for readability of that off center 24 hour GMT, sub-dial disc. Okay. And that 24 hour off center sub-dial actually allows for easier viewing of the difference in time-zones and additionally the difference of A.M and P.M itself, so you can easily tell the difference between 10 A.M and 10 P.M on that sub-dial disc. Okay. One other thing to mention is that at the very edge of the dial you can see little square apertures at each index hour marker, and that's actually because the Sky-Dweller also has a annual calender and I'll show you how to adjust that later on. Okay, besides that, we have the date window at the three o'clock position, with a cyclops lens on top of that sapphire crystal to magnify it and have an easier viewing of that date. So the bezel, moving on to the bezel now. The bezel is a fluted, bi-directional, retainable Rolex Ring-Command bezel that actually adjusts functions on the crown when turned. Okay, as we move on to the crown, both the bezel and the crown are made out of 18 karat yellow gold. The crown itself is a screw out, twin lock, double waterproof-ness system, that unwinds counter-clockwise as shown. With the crown fully inserted into the case itself and nicely tight against the case, screwed down nicely tight against the case, it has a water resistance of 100 meters, or 330 feet. Now for the specific portion, I do have the crown all the way outwards. I'm actually going to show you how the Rolex Ring-Command bezel works. So, with the Command bezel, we are at the furthest right position. As you can see, I can not turn it right any more. And in this position, it allows you to wind the watch by going clockwise. From a dead stop, about 15-20 clockwise winds will get the watch going once more. Up to a power reserve of 72 hours, meaning you can put this watch down on Friday evening and pick it up on a Monday afternoon, and it will be keeping time just fine. Okay, with a slight turn of that bezel, you'll be able to as I've said before, actually, sorry, I apologize, let me start again. So, at the right-most position, the crown in the fist position allows you to wind your watch, fully tugged out, allows you to use the functions off the Command bezel. So, in this current position, there is no functions. A slight adjustment to the left, allows you to instantaneously change the date, and one thing to notice is that you can go either direction. As you can see, we can go backwards by going clockwise or going forward going counter-clockwise. And as I've mentioned before, at the very edges of the dial we have the annual calendar. As you can see the apertures are all white except for one of them, which has the red square. You can go ahead and I'll show you as we get closer to the end date at the end of the month, bam, moves on to the next one. Once more, go all the way around to the end of the month and there you go, jumps again. So annual calender a nice feature and also being able to adjust the date bi-directionally, so you can go forward or backwards, very nice to have. Once more we're going to go ahead and move that bezel again to the left and that allows for the quick hour jump. As you can see the hour hand moves independent of the minute hand and the seconds hand. Also, of the GMT sub-dial. So, you can accurately adjust the time, very quickly, very easily, without interrupting the rest of the time on the watch, so you can have an accurate depiction of time once you switch to a different time-zone. Let's just say the London time-zone. London time-zone to Philippines is about seven hours, so you can just go ahead and jump seven hours forward. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. And there we are. Seconds still going, minutes still at the same spot. Very easy, very nice to use. Let's go ahead and put that back. We're going to go ahead and move to the next part of the Command bezel, the third position. In this third position just allows you to set the hands bi-directionally, as you can see. Minute hand moves. The off center disc as well, shifts around as well. So you can adjust the time-zone, the secondary time-zone you're in just by simply focusing on the triangular red marker. And you can set that time just by moving the minute hand around. One thing to mention is that the seconds hand does stop and allows for precise time setting, such as sub-atomic clock online, you can set the time down to the exact seconds. And that was the final position of the Rolex Command bezel. Like I said, always make sure, press the crown nice and tight against the case and screw it down, keep that watch water resistant. Okay, so I'm just going to go ahead and shift it back into the original position. Alright. Let's go ahead and move on to the bracelet now. So the Sky-Dweller is more of a dress watch and as shown, because we have this very beautiful 18 karat yellow gold, high polished bracelet, that patterns throughout very nicely through the bracelet and the clasp itself. It's juxtaposed by the contrasting satin finish, or brushed steel, of the outer of the three piece links. It's very nice. And I do apologize, I forgot to go over the case as well. So the case, as I mentioned, it was a dress watch because of that high-polished, even on the case itself. The case size is a 42 millimeter case size. So, from my index finger to my thumb here, there are 42 millimeter case size. Nice high polish on the lugs. On the side of the case we have that nice high polish patterning with the side of the bracelet as well. Same could be said about the other side of the case as well. Alright, so let me go ahead and move on to the clasp now. The clasp, very simple folding oyster clasp, opens up very easily to show the nicely high polished Rolex name embossed onto that clasp blade. The function of the clasp itself, pull down at a 45 degree angle, and this is the open position of the clasp. And it has what Rolex calls the Easy-Link, which allows for 5 millimeter increment adjustment, to the bracelet, either inwards or outwards. And that's more of a quality life feature, such as a on a hot summer day you can adjust for more comfortability on the wrist when your wrist begins to swell up a little bit, makes the watch a little bit too tight on your wrist, give it more breathing room, and vice versa for colder days. Moving on to the movement now. The movement is housed in a simple oyster cased backing. It is a perpetual mechanical, self winding movement. It's Rolex's caliber 9001 movement. That has the functions of the dual time-zone, annual calender, and the functions of the center hour, minutes, seconds hand. Stopping the seconds hand for precise time setting and entails changing the date as I've shown you. This is a movement that's packed with a lot of functions on it. So that's why it's such a larger case size, so it can house that additional functions. As I mentioned before, the power reserve of this watch is approximately 72 hours. The oscillator is a Paramagnetic Blue Parachrom Hairspring, which has additional resistance to magnetism. And has also high performance Paraflex shock absorbers, which Rolex claims absorbs 50 percent more shocks than the industry standards KIF shock absorbers. Let me actually go ahead and show you this watch on my wrist now. Once again, opening that folding oyster. Snaps right in. That two-tone looking very nice. And there's the watch on my wrist.
