Hey guys, this is Kenny from JazTime.com and today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, reference number 114300. We'll be going over the price, dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. Okay, so as of May 2017, this watch retails at $5700 at a Rolex retailer. At JazTime.com, you can get it for as low as $4400. Okay, so let's go ahead and take a look at this dial now. For the dial, I currently have in my hand is what is referred to as the Grape dial, which has this beautiful purple sunburst to it. Other configurations come in the Rhodium and the Blue, and luckily for you today, I actually do have the Rhodium here today. So can see these two side-by-side, the Grape and Rhodium. As you can see, very beautiful when shining under the light. As you can see, as I tilt it, you see that sunburst effect. Alright. Besides that, we have index markers for the three, six and nine positions. The Rolex Crown located at the 12 o'clock position and very basic 18 karat white gold hour markers for the rest of the hour markers. One thing I wanna mention for the differences in color, is that as a Grape for the hour indexes you can see that it's marked by a red indicator. For the Rhodium, it has little blue dots instead. And for the Blue dial, the indexes are green and blue. Okay, besides that very basic. The three, six and nine hour markers and the hands are luminescent. As you can see, indicated by the white, that indicates the luminosity for up to eight hours. For the hands, they're fashioned at 18 karat white gold as well, as you can see. Moving on, the bezel, very simple bezel. It's just a dome, high polished steel bezel. For the case size, we have a 39 millimeter case. Index finger to my thumb here, and it's 39 millimeters in diameter. For the side profile, it's not too high of a side profile. Will fit under sleeve cuffs very easily, very nicely. Has a high polish on the sides that patterns down nicely with the bracelet. On the other side, same thing, that nice beautiful high polish on the sides. Like Rolex Crown on, well the crown. Okay, and the crown just serves very simple functions. It unscrews counterclockwise, it is a screw down to unlock double waterproofness system. And here's the crown in the first position in which you can wind the watch, 20 to 30 times, any more and you might damage the watch. Okay, and it only has one additional position and which allows you to adjust the hands bidirectionally. The seconds hand, or the hack movement, will stop and this allows for precise time settings such as an atomic clock online. You can set it down to the exact seconds. Always make sure to press the crown nice and tight against the case and screw it all the way back down. And that will keep this watch water resistance for 100 meters or 330 feet. Okay, so moving on to the bracelet now. This watch only comes in the Oyster bracelet. And it's a three piece link bracelet and is brush steel. Brush steel for each piece of the link, as you can see. The clasp is a very simple clasp and it's just the Oyster clasp. Fully Oyster clasp as you see there. Pops out very easily. Has a Rolex name embossed onto the clasp plate itself there, on a high polish, so there's clasp blade. For adjustment behind the clasp, you can actually adjust this bracelet forward or backwards five millimeter increments. Unfortunately you will need a tool in order for you to do that. As I flip it around to the other side here. There's two little pins that you have to adjust in order to fit the little indentation on the clasp or behind the clasp in order to adjust the bracelet itself, which is kind of a hassle compared to other Rolex bracelets that have the, such as the comfort extension link, which is just a simple snap on snap off. And the glide lock, which just allows you to drag the bracelet left and right. Okay, so let's go ahead and talk about the movement now. So movement is housed in this Oyster case back. It is a in-house 3132 caliber movement. It is a perpetual mechanical self-winding movement with a precision of minus two plus two seconds a day. The functions has the functions of the hour, minutes and seconds hand and the stopping of the seconds hand, as I've shown you with the crown. The oscillator is a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, with a high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers. Indicated by the Rolex website, the shock absorbers absorb about 50% more than the KIF shock absorbers. The power reserve is approximately 48 hours, meaning you can put this down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Sunday evening and it should still be keeping time fine. Okay, so let me go ahead and actually show you this watch on my wrist now. See, very simple folding Oyster clasp. There you go. So that's the watch on the wrist. As you can see as I tilt it towards the light, very beautiful dial. One thing I want to mention is, my wrist size is an average size wrist, those seven inches.
