Hey guys, this is Kevin from JazTime.com, and today we'll be going over the Rolex Datejust II, in blue Arabic, in the stainless steel. The reference number for this watch is 116300. We'll be going over the price, the dial, the bezel, the case, the crown, the bracelet, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end. The price as of November 2016 for this watch is, you can get this at a Rolex retail store for $7,150, or you can get it a JazTime for $5,800, which is a savings of $1,350. Moving on, we'll go ahead and review the dial now. The dial is a very nice beautiful rhodium dial. As you can see it captures the light quite nicely. For the hour markers, we have Arabic numerals that have a very nice azure blue color in the inner workings of the Arabic numerals, and then that's all fashioned into 18-karat white gold to prevent any tarnishing. The same can be said about the hands as well. These hands are made out of 18-karat white gold. They have a little index towards the tip of them, and that's for the luminosity. The Arabic numerals and those hands glow for up to eight hours, which is very nice. We have the date located at the three o'clock position, and it has a cyclops lens, as you can see here that provides easier magnification, and that sets on top of the crystal as a little protrusion there, and that makes it easier to read that date. If you don't prefer this rhodium color, this Datejust II actually does come in different colors as well. It comes in black, white, and additionally a blue. However the azure blue Arabic numerals are only rhodium dial, so that's something to keep in mind. This makes this rhodium Datejust II a little more unique than the other ones. Let's go ahead and move onto the bezel now. The bezel is a nice high polished dome bezel, and it's made out of the Rolex's in-house 904L steel, which is much stronger in durability, and gives a much more better shine than the industry standard AISI 316L steel, the other watch companies use. Besides that, very nice high polish, and there's not really much else that can be said about this bezel. For the case, the case size is a 41 millimeter case size, and that's from my thumb to the right here, and my thumb to the left here. That's 41 millimeter in diameter case. It's still made again, made out of that 904L steel. It has what we call the super case, which means that the case itself has a little bit larger lugs on the bottom and at the top, if it had crown guards, it would have larger crown guards as well. Another thing to mention is the tape ring towards the end of the lugs, is not as sharp as the original case. It has a very nice tapering at the corners here. While we're at it, the thickness of this watch is somewhere around the 12.20 millimeters in thickness, so the profile of this watch is not very high. It'll fit under a suit cuff very nicely, or a dress cuff very nicely, and overall looks very nice, as we can see as well. We have the high polish on the sides of the case, and I can go ahead and show you on the other side as well. We have that high polish on that other side as well. Let's go ahead and review the crown. The crown, also located at the three o'clock position, very simple, very easy to use, as it's just Rolex's patented screw down twin lock double water proof system. What that means is that you just unscrew the crown very easily counter clockwise, and it's currently in the hand winding position. What that means is that you can just wind the watch. 20 to 30 times is the most you should do. Any more and you might damage the watch. It's very simple, very easy to do like this. If you go ahead and do one click outwards, that'll be in the date setting position, and as you can see there, we have instantaneous changing of the date. No need to do revolutions with the hands around the dial just to change the date once. You can just go ahead and just simply set it very easily. Very useful for all obviously months that have 30 days opposed to 31 days, or the pesky February that has the 28 days. Another tug and you'll be in the hand setting position. As you can see, very simple, very easy to use, bidirectionally the hands will move. Another thing to mention, is that it will stop the second hands moving, or the hack movement once this is pulled to the final position of the hand-setting position. As you can see, if I press this back down, the second hands will start again. Always make sure to screw the crown nice and tight against the case, as this will keep this watch water resistant up to 100 meters, or 330 feet. Let's go ahead and talk about the bracelet now. The bracelet is a very beautiful oyster bracelet. As you see there, it's made out of three piece links. It has a high polish running down the center portion of the bracelet, while having a satin finish on the outer edges of the bracelet. A very nice contrast to bring out more shine out of the high polish, as the high polish comes down from that high polished dome bezel. It patterns very nicely across, and like I said that satin finish really brings out more of that shine in contrast to that high polish. One thing to mention is that the high polish does show scuffs quite easily, but it is also as easy to polish out as well, but that is something to keep in mind as you do that pro of having a very nice shine, very good eye-catching shine, verses the durability. Moving onto the clasp now, the clasp is a very simple folding oyster clasp, as you can see there, just very simply, just bam, pops out, as easy as though, like that. This will reveal the clasp blades which has the Rolex name embossed onto the clasp blade itself there. As you can see the Rolex name. Then there's a thickness of the clasp. This whole bracelet is made out of the 904L steel, I'd like to mention. This bracelet is as durable as the case itself. It has that very nice, very strong in-house made steel from Rolex. Right now I'm currently at the back of the clasp. I just wanted to show you guys a quick thing called the comfort extension link, so basically the comfort extension link is the ability to extend the bracelet five millimeters outwards, or five millimeters inwards. The use for that, is if it were a hot day, you would be able to expand that bracelet. This is five millimeters outwards, so expand that bracelet, so it can fit on the wrist when your wrist swells up a little bit on the hotter days, but you can also put it five millimeters inwards, and it snaps in like that. For colder days when your wrist shrinks up a little bit, you could have more comfort when wearing the watch and not having it jiggling around. Okay, so let's go ahead and move on to the movement of the watch. For the back of the case, we have just a very simple oyster case backing. The movement of the watch is a perpetual mechanical self-winding movement. This is Rolex's in-house 3136 Caliber movement. It defers from Rolex's usual movement of 3135. The 3135 movement allows for that center, hour, minute, seconds hand, and and instantaneous changing of the date. Also with the stopping of that second hand that I showed you earlier with the crown setting, the 3136 encompasses all of that as well, but it's the main plate for the watch is a little bit larger to fit all of the parts together, and the main thing that the 3136 has over the 3135 is that they added what Rolex calls the high performance Peraflex shock absorbers, which they claim that it absorbs 50% more shocks than industry standard shock absorbers for watches, and that's pretty good as the shock absorbers help with re-guiding the balance wheel back in place, so you don't lose that change of time because of like sudden shakes. This watch is very durable, and highly resistant to shock. Not only is it a very classy dress watch. It has very high durability as well. A very great watch. I'd also like to mention that the power reserve of this watch is 48 hours, so that means you could put this down on a Friday, pick it back up, or you can leave it on your dresser on Friday, pick it back up on Sunday, maybe Sunday morning, it should still be running. If not, you can always wind it again. Let me go ahead and show you this watch on the wrist now. As you can see, just very simple, bam. Very simple, very easy to use, and there's that watch, wow. That rhodium is very beautiful with the light. The light shines quite nicely on it, and those azure blue Arabic numerals, I really like that. I really love that blue color on the watch. Here's a side profile. You see how it is on the wrist. As you can see, it doesn't sit very high. It will most definitely fit under a suit cuff very nicely. It's just got so much shine because of that dome bezel. Overall, a very beautiful watch. If you have any questions about this watch, leave a comment below.
