Hey guys, this is Kevin from Jaztime.com, and today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 41, reference number 126300. We'll be going over the price, the dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp. And we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. Okay, so as of October 2017 you can get this newly released Datejust 41 at an authorized Rolex retailer for $7,350 or you can come to Jaztime.com and get it for as little as $6,600. Moving on to the dial now. With all basic, with all Datejust it's a very basic dial, basic dial architecture. We have index hour markers fashioned in 18 carat white gold and luminous filled with a highly legible chromalight display. That has a blue, like I said, blue luminosity for up to eight hours. We have the date at the three o'clock position with a cyclops lens on top of that sapphire crystal for a magnification, easier viewing of that date. At the 12 o'clock position we have the Rolex crown logo there with the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust name right underneath that. The hands are, the hands are a white gold as well with the tips of the hands being luminous as well to provide legibility at night. Like I said, along with the hour markers that are also luminous. Okay, besides that for the dial colors, the Datejust is usually known for its different configurations you can receive it in. Specifically for this newly released Datejust, it only comes in the index hour markers, which are the ones shown on this dial. We of course have the blue colored dial here, as you can see that beautiful sunburst. But if you're not interested in the blue dial, it also comes in a white, silver, black, and also newly rhodium dial, which is sort of a dark gray dial. Moving on to the bezel, the bezel is a very simple bezel. It's just a smooth, a fixed, smooth bezel with a nice high polish to contrast with the sunburst blue dial. For the case, we're looking at a 41 millimeter case as the name states, as Datejust 41. So from my index finger to my thumb here that's a 41 millimeter diameter case. A nice high polish on the side of the case. As you can see from the lugs, a nice high polish there, bottom and top lugs. On the side of the case, again, once again, you have the high polish on the side that matches with the bracelet. As you can see on the other side as well, we have the same thing here. Nice compact movement, so it has a not too high of a profile. It'll fit under suit cuffs, dress cuffs very nicely. The crown itself has a Rolex crown logo on it. As we move on to that, the crown itself is screwed on to unlock the double waterproofness system. And it just simply unscrews counter-clockwise into the standard position here, in which you can wind the watch. 15 to 20 times from a dead stop is all you need to get the watch started. A simple tug of the crown will allow you to adjust the date or set the date instantaneously. Just going clockwise as shown. And in this final position which you can tug the crown out to. Keep your eye on the seconds hand as we pull the crown out to the final position, that will stop the seconds hand or the hack movement, as it's also referred to. That allows for precise time setting such as to an atomic clock online. So you can set it down to the exact seconds. And in this position you can adjust the hands or set the hands bidirectionally. Pressing the crown back in will start that seconds hand once more. And make sure you always screw the crown nice and tight and against the case, as you wanna keep this watch water resistant. Specifically for the Datejust, for 100 meters or 330 feet. Okay, moving on to the bracelet. As this a dress watch, we have a very beautiful contrasting of high polish down the center of the three piece links on this oyster bracelet, with the satin finish on the outer of the three piece links. As you can see that pattern is kept throughout the whole bracelet, even on to the clasp itself. Being that it is a dress watch, we have a very simple folding oyster clasp that holds that together. The clasp blades, nice high polish clasp blades with the Rolex name embossed onto the clasp blade itself. For the functions of a clasp, it is adjustable by tool for what's called Rolex's easy link. Which, as you can see the little indentation right under the clasp there, that allows for five millimeters of adjustment for the bracelet, forward or backwards. That's specifically for more comfortability on wrists, such as on a hotter day when your wrist swells up a little bit more, the watch might be a little bit tighter. You can adjust for that. Also vice versa, on colder days you don't want the watch to be shaking around all over your wrist, you can adjust it to be a little bit tighter as well. Okay, moving on to the movement now. The movement is housed in this very simple oyster case backing. It is a perpetual mechanical self-winding movement. It is the caliber 32 Rolex in house made, caliber 3235 movement, which is a newer style movement that is based on the 3135 movement or the 3255 movement, which is in the Day-Date, in the Rolex President Day-Date. So specifically what that entails is that they've actually added a skeletonized, nickel skeletonized, skeletonized made of nickel phosphorous escapement wheel. And the skeletonization of that wheel allows for less inertia, more energy efficiency. Whereas the material that it's made from, the nickel phosphorous, allows it to have additional magnetism resistance. And that's paired with the Paragmentic blue Parachrom hairspring which also adds additional magnetic resistance. The functions of the movement. Center hour, minutes, seconds hand, with instantaneous chaning of the date, as I've shown you. Stopping of the seconds hand for precise time setting. Another big update for the movement from the 3135 up to this 3235 is that the power reserve used to be 48 hours, now it's a whopping 70 hours. So you can put this watch down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Monday afternoon and it should be keeping time just fine. Alright, so let me actually go ahead and show you this watch on my wrist now. As you can see, very simple off and on and there we are. Absolutely gorgeous blue dial, that sunburst blue. You can see that light shining in different portions of it as you tilt it, kind of travels around that dial.
