If you enjoy our videos, we'd greatly appreciate it if you would buy a watch at jaztime.com, which is why we make these videos. Yes, they're not purely for review reasons or informational reasons. No, we actually make this video so customers like you can buy a watch at jaztime.com. So, if you think I know what I'm talking about, could you please reward me by buying one of these watches? Today I'm going to be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 36, reference 126233 on the silver Jubilee dial, the fluted bezel on Jubilee bracelet. I'm gonna talk to you guys about the dial, the bezel, the case, the movement, bracelet, give you my thoughts and tell you a little bit about why this one's different from the older 116233 version. So let's dive right in. The case, which is the thing that holds the movement inside here, is 36 mm Oystersteel and yellow gold. That's what they call it. But in fact, it's just the case itself right here, is made of steel. The part that's yellow gold is the bezel. Rolex calls this yellow Rolesor, which is a combination of Oystersteel and 18k yellow gold. But for all intents and purposes, the case is steel and the head of it is yellow gold. But the material, you would consider this watch to be a steel and yellow gold watch, because of course you see yellow gold here, yellow gold on the bezel, and then steel on the case. So this would be a stainless steel and yellow gold, or yellow gold and stainless steel. Now let's move on. As I told you before, it's 36 mm. That's from my thumb to my index finger. So it can be worn by a woman, it can also be worn by a man. If a man likes a smaller watch or a woman likes a larger watch, this would actually suit that just fine. And I said I would compare this slightly to the older 116233 version. And what I wanted to tell you about the case that is different, you see these lugs? Take a look at these lugs right here. Lugs are the place where the bracelet connects with the case. This is the bracelet, this is the case. And that's the intersection of those two points. And now where they intersect, the newer 126233, which this is, has a slimmer profile. And if you look at these lugs, I don't have a 116233 to compare with, but as they have changed and they've made them more streamlined, as you can see right there. Well, you probably can't compare it, but take my word for it, it is more streamlined. So that's one difference on the case. Now moving on to the dial. Now, this dial is a very particular dial, and obviously I have it here at our office at Jaztime in Newport Beach, and you see that it has a Jubilee dial. It says Rolex, Rolex, Rolex. It's not a very common dial. They do make this also in champagne, which is a gold color. This is a silver one, and it's silver, and the reason I kind of liked this one, I'm actually a big fan of it, I'm surprised not more people know about this one. Maybe perhaps because the dial is a little bit more rare, but it actually gives the watch kind of a 3D look. Now take a look at that. So you like, instead of having a flat dial, it's like Rolex, Rolex, Rolex, which is kind of cool. It's kind of, I think it has a nice design to it. It makes it modern and it's alternating; not only is it alternating, it actually looks like at random. It's not like every single one that looks exactly the same, but they kind of space it so that it ends up looking much more 3D. I think that makes it really cool. I'm surprised more people don't, aren't drawn to it. But you know as I said, it's pretty rare. But we have it here at Jaztime. So if you want to buy it, you simply click on the link in the description below and you can go to our website, J-A-Z-T-I-M-E.com and buy it, which is actually why I'm making this video by the way. Not for the goodness or, you know, not for my health, I'm actually make it so you can buy it and decide at home after watching this video, if you want to buy it, since you can't come here, if you're like very far away. So anyhow, let's move on to the bezel. The bezel is a fluted bezel. Fluted, what does that mean? It has these sort of chops or serrated edges or knife edge, or you know, it just has these edges that you see here. And really makes the watch sparkle. It's actually 18K yellow gold, which again is another reason why it costs, it causes this watch to be so expensive, okay. It has a winding screw down crown and scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and it's Cyclops over this edge. They don't make it without the date, so this is the only configuration you can have. It has a waterproofness of 100m; probably 100m more than any of us ever dive. And I assume most of us don't dive with our gold diamond watches. But if you wanted to, you could dive to 100m. So, I suppose. Now the movement, let's talk about the movement, because the movement has changed. Now although you can't see it, I have seen these movements. Actually, I see them on a daily basis because we get these watches in used. And by the way, if you want to trade your old watch in for this watch, you simply go to jaztime.com and press the trade button for a free quote. Now this movement here is a 3235 caliber movement. Has a precision of plus minus two seconds a day, and a power reserve of 70 hours. How it differs from the old Datejust 36 116233, is that the movement is now a 3235. It used to be a 3135. The 3135 has been around for 30 years. There's 3235 just came out. And if you actually look at it, it's actually very, very nice, and it looks much more modern. And I've seen it, of course. And I'm kind of surprised that, you know, that Rolex doesn't make an Exhibition case back, you know, so that you could see their excellent work on the back. But I don't know. maybe that's someday, who knows. And this one, this 3235 also has a power reserve increased from 48 hours to 70 hours. So it adds an extra day and it actually is more precise. Now it's plus minus two seconds, it used to be plus minus seven seconds. Maybe someday they'll make it plus minus zero seconds so it will be exactly on. Who knows? But that leaves to be desired. It may be in another 30 years. So, but that is the difference. So, if you were thinking to upgrade from your 116233 which is the old Datejust, to the now 126233, which is the new Datejust, the movement would be a good reason. It's kind of like going from a four cylinder car to a six cylinder car. Now let's talk about the bracelet. Now, this is also updated, okay. Now where you might see it? Well, that's why I'm doing this review to show you where it would be. This is using a Jubilee bracelet, which is five piece links across. That means one, three in the center are gold, and then another one. That makes five. And you know why it's called this yellow row, sort of a combination of oyster steel in 18K yellow gold, basically it's just stainless steel and gold, as you see. Now where it differs from the older version is that it has this folding oyster clasp with easy 5 mm comfort extension. What does all that mean? Well, before it did not have this buckle. It actually, it was concealed. It looked all like this, where you see my hand. Now if you look back at some of our other videos, if you simply go to our YouTube channel, Jaztime, and type in 116233, you'll see reviews of that. And it has Jubilee all the way across. It's a concealed clasp. But this one, the reference 126233, which I have in my hand, it uses a folding oyster clasp instead, which is basically a Datejust buckle. Now some people have complained. Of course, a lot of people will complain for no good reason because they're idiots, but Rolex is making these watches and using millions of dollars of, you know, R&D research, to come up with the finest watch that Swiss can make. So I mean, who are we to tell them how they should make their watches. After all, they are the king of watches. And I think 99% of the population agree. Now, if you want my opinion, actually, I like it with this Datejust buckle. And I'll tell you why. To me, it makes it more symmetrical. Having seen and sold probably more than 10,000 watches, I like that there's a head, there's a body, and then there is a tail. I like that there's separation between the three pieces. I liked that there's symmetry. If you look at the watch now, look it, doesn't it look symmetrical? It was top, middle, bottom. And you turn it upside down, it looks the same. Before it didn't look like that. It was all one piece. That to me, kind of looks funny, I gotta be honest. And you know what? The smart Switzerland people, whoever made this watch or designed it, they also agree. So it just seems like a better idea to use this kind of clasp. And it looks good. It's like at the bottom of your clasp it should look like your clasp. I mean, is that not the point of a clasp? Why conceal it, right? It's to me, it's just seems kind of weird. So I actually liked this one and I think 99% of the population, as well as Rolex, agrees. So if you like it, well, you should buy this one or you should upgrade from your old version to the new version. Now however, if you do want the older version, guess what? We can get it for you at Jazime.com. J-A-Z-T-I-M-E.com. Simply go to our website and find it and buy it. Now I'm going to try it on and give you my thoughts. Since I've gone through all the parts, I'll just give you a little summary. The summary is that the case is different, the bracelet is different and the movement is different from the older Datjust 36. Now this 126223 and silver Jubilee got diamond dial, is pretty special. I like it, I think it fits very well for a, a woman who likes to wear larger watches. But guess what? Look at it on my wrist. You know, if you're a man and you want to wear something that's a bit more South Park, you don't want it to be so flashy like the champagne, but you want sort of like a 3D looking dial that's going to look still very, you know, interesting all the time so you could always look at it. Well, this would be a good choice for you. So I'm a real fan of the Datejust. Actually personally I have some Datejust of my own. So I like this watch. And if you liked this watch, please go to jaztime.com and buy it. Don't watch our video and go buy it from somewhere else. That wouldn't be very nice, would it?
