Hey guys, this is Kevin from JazTime.com and today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 36, reference number 116233. We'll be going over the price, the dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. Okay, so as of December 2017, you can get this from an authorized Rolex retailer for $10,900. Or you could come to jaztime.com and get it for as low as $8,800. Okay? Moving on to the dial now. The dial configuration I currently have in my hand is the Roman numeral hour markers, with a silver dial. With the Datejust architecture we always have standard hour markers, Rolex crown at the 12 o'clock position, the Rolex Datejust Oyster Perpetual name paragraph right underneath that 12 o'clock position. The Roman numerals and the hour and minute hand along with the seconds hand are all fashioned out of 18 carat yellow gold. At the three o'clock position we have the date window with the cyclops lens on top of that sapphire crystal for magnification and easier viewing of that date. And of course, also additionally with Datejust there's numerous different configurations that you can buy the Datejust in. Specifically, for this one as I have in my hand is the Roman numeral with silver. If you're interested in just your Roman numeral other Roman numeral colors or even the index hour markers which have luminescence that have a highly-legible chromalight display. You can get that in a black, white, champagne, silver dial color. If you're feeling a-- If you like the Arabic numerals, then you can only buy that in a brown dial color. There's also a special silver floral patterning, where it has floral, flower background that are lifted from the dial a little bit, so it has a little more dimension to it. And that one only comes in a brown or green. If you're feeling a little more luxurious then an additional 2,000 on top of the retail pricing, you can buy the diamond hour markers. So all the diamond hour mark, the hour markers will be diamonds, fashioned in 18 carat yellow gold. And that comes in the either black, champagne, silver, or silver jubilee, which is a sort of patterning that has the Rolex name patterned throughout the background. And also you can also buy in the white, okay? Moving on to the bezel now. The bezel is just a simple, fixed 18 carat yellow gold filled bezel. The case is a, the case is a Roselor style case which is a combination, combination usage of 18 carat yellow gold and the 904L steel, which is a in-house made steel by Rolex themselves, that has a little more corrosion resistance and a little more shine to it. The Datejust is a dress watch so we have these nice high polish on the lugs. On the top and on the bottom of the case, nice high polish, whereas the sports watches will have a more satin-finished lug. Besides that, as the name states, it is a Datejust 36, so it's a 36 millimeter case size, so from my index finger to my thumb here, that's 36 millimeters in diameter. And actually, lucky for you guys today I actually do have the 31 millimeter version today so you can have that little comparison between this difference of sizes. So there they are. The 31 actually, the size of the crystal is actually, is about the size of a quarter. Okay. Alright. Let me show you the side of the case now. So, for the side of the case we have a nice high polish on the side of the case. The thickness of the watch, not too thick will fit under suit coats and dress coats very nicely. Same thing on the other side of the watch, we have these nice high polish again, with the Rolex crown logo on the 18 carat yellow gold crown. The crown itself if a screw down twin lock, double waterproof in the system. And it unwinds counterclockwise, as shown. And in this first position, this is where you can actually wind the watch from a dead stop about 15 to 20 clockwise turns. As I'm doing so, will get the watch going from a dead stop. A simple tug of the crown will put you in the next position in which you're able to adjust the date, going clockwise very quickly, very instantaneously. And then the final position of the crown, keep your eye on the seconds hand here, actually I'll wait for it to pass the date window here. And you actually can stop the seconds hand just by tugging the crown to the final position. And that allows for precise time setting, such as to atomic clock online. You can set it down to the exact seconds. Also in this position you can also set the date, set the time. Okay? Always make sure, press the crown back in. That gets the seconds hand started once more. And screw down the crown nice and tight against the case as it protects and keeps the watch water-resistant for 100 meters or 330 feet. Okay, moving on the the bracelet now. Bracelet, very beautiful jubilee bracelet, which is a five-piece link bracelet. It has a contrasting brushed steel on the outer of the five-piece link, so the thicker part of the links. Whereas the center is a smaller three-piece links that are high polished 18 carat yellow gold. And the patterning is throughout the whole bracelet as this is the Rolex jubilee bracelet that has a concealed full in crown clasp, as shown here. You can see that this is actually where the clasp starts by the Rolex crown logo. And that's actually how you open up the clasp. Revealing these nicely high polished clasp plates with the Rolex name embossed onto the clasp plate itself. Okay one more time. Show you how it looks, as so. And then easily opened up. There we are. Okay. Moving on to the movement now. The movement is housed in a simple oyster case backing. It is one of Rolex's tried and tested movements for over 10 years, it's the 3135 movement. It is a perpetual, mechanical, self-winding movement manufactured by Rolex themselves. Has a precision of minus two, plus two seconds a day. And has the functions of the center, hour, minute, and seconds hand. And stopping of the seconds hand, and this entails changing of the date, as I've shown you with the crown functions. The oscillators are paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, which adds additional resistance against magnetism. And the power reserve of this watch is 48 hours, meaning you could put this watch down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Sunday afternoon, and it will be keeping time just fine. Alright, so I'm actually go ahead and show you this watch on my wrist now. Once again, concealed full in crown clasp as located by Rolex crown logo on the jubilee bracelet. As you can see, very nicely patterned throughout. One thing to keep in mind, I do have the average man-sized wrist, which is a seven inch wrist, you can see. So a little more room there. Okay, and so there is the watch on my wrist. Okay, so if you're interested in this watch or any other model for the lowest possible price check out our website at JazTime.com.
