Hey guys, this is Kevin from JazTime.com and today I'll be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 31. Reference number for this watch is 278240. We'll be going over the pricing, the dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. So, one thing to mention before we start is that this model normally does not come with a diamond bezel. The diamond bezel is a custom made diamond bezel that we had sent to our watchmaker upon a customer's request and we've added on this beautiful diamond bezel. Besides that, everything else about the watch is 100% Rolex factory parts. Nothing else has been changed. Alright, so what's the price you're looking at when you're looking for this watch and that diamond bezel? Well, the price as of August 2017, you can get this watch for $7,100 for the Jubilee bracelet. Otherwise, an Oyster bracelet, you're looking at $7,000. Moving on to the dial now, as I've said before, the dial is factory Rolex dial. It's a very beautiful pink dial with Roman numerals. The Roman numerals are 18 karat white gold. Same as the hands, the hands are 18 karat white gold as well. We have the date aperture at the 3 o'clock position with a cyclops lens on top of that sapphire crystal as you can see it protruding there a little bit and that provides magnification and easier viewing of that date aperture. Some different configurations that we can do for this Datejust with a custom diamond bezel, there are numerous configurations if you're looking for factory, specifically for a factory dial sell, then you can do this in silver, blue, black, or pink dial. Otherwise, we do also do custom dials. We also add diamonds. We can also do diamond dials or mother pearl with diamonds or just mother of pearl with regular arrow markers. Of course, if you don't see a configuration that you're interested in, you can always give us a call. We've done numerous different types, such as meteorite, which is one of our special ones. We've done the meteorite dial with Roman Numerals and a diamond bezel. So, don't be afraid to ask. Otherwise, moving onto the bezel now. The bezel is a diamond bezel. It's almost like a karat bezel, just a little bit under. You're looking at G to H colorscale on the diamonds. See, very beautiful. Alright, moving on. The case size is a 31 millimeter case from my index finger to my thumb here. It's a 31 millimeter case made out of Rolex's 904L steel, which is an in-house made steel and it has additional corrosion resistance. The sides of the watch, high polished, sides of the watch are high polished and travel very nicely along the wrist. On the other side as well, we have that high polish as well. It patterns very nicely. For the Rolex, for the crown now, crown serves very simple functions for Datejust. And it is a screw down to unlock double waterproofing the system. You unscrew this crown, counter clockwise as shown, and it pops out to the first position and you're going to unwind the watch 20-30 times, no more, as you might damage the watch by putting too much tension on the movement. Otherwise, pulling out the crown, move that there pulling out the crown once will let you adjust the date, as shown. You can see that instantaneous changing of the date, as you go counterclockwise. Finally, keep your eye out on the seconds hand here as it moves and the final position when you tug the crown out stops the seconds hand allowing for precise time setting and additionally you can also adjust to set the hands bi-directionally as well to the time you need. The reason for stopping the seconds hand in the final position, it allows you to set the time precisely to such things as an atomic clock online. Of course, pressing the crown back in, pressing crown back in starts the seconds hand once more. Starts the seconds hand once more and always make sure you screw the crown, nice and tight against the case as it keeps this watch water resistant for 100 meters or 330 feet. Alright, so moving onto the bracelet now. The bracelet we have is Rolex's factory Jubilee bracelet. It is still made out of that 904L steel and house made steel and is very beautiful in terms of the contrast from the satin finished brushed steel. The brushed steel are larger links of the five piece links with the three piece center links being that nice high polish. Really brings out more shine in the watch. Patterns nicely throughout the whole bracelet as well. As you can see, as I turn that through, the pattern is only broken up by this little Rolex crown here and the reason for that is 'cause that's where the clasp is located, as this is the concealed folding crown clasp. As we pop that open, we see the clasp plate high polish with the Rolex name embossed on there. Very beautiful. Once more time, I'll show you that's how it looks. Nice and hidden, as you can see clasp's right behind, hidden right behind that bracelet. Alright, so moving on the movement now. The movement is an in-house made movement. It's Rolex's in-house made 2235 perpetual mechanical self-winding movement. It has a precision of minus 2 plus 2 seconds a day which is in COSC certification and it functions with the center, hour, minute, and seconds hand when it's changing of the date and stopping of the seconds hand with precise time setting as I've shown you with the crown. The power reserve of this watch is 48 hours. So if you put this watch down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Sunday evening, you'll be keeping time just fine. The watch will be keeping time just fine. So, I'm actually going to show you this watch on my wrist. Once again, look for that Rolex crown. Pop it off. There we are. One thing to mention, I do have an average man sized wrist which is a seven inch wrist and there's still a little bit of room as you can see there. So, it's still a very nice fit.
