If you enjoy our videos, we would greatly appreciate it if you buy a watch from jaztime.com once in a while. Today we'll be reviewing a Panerai Radiomir. This is the model number: PAM 379. We'll be going over the dial, bezel, case, crown, strap, clasp, and we'll talk about about the movement towards the end of the video. So jumping right into the dial, we have a typical, typical Panerai dial. We have arabic numerals at the twelve, three, six and nine o'clock position. The dial itself is as Panerai states is a brown-style dial. The hands, the hour and minute hands along with the index indents in between each arabic numeral, including the arabic numerals are all luminous. So meaning that this watch does glow in the dark for up to eight hours. And I actually can show you how that looks. So let me go ahead and charge that real quick. And shut off my lights here. And you can see the luminosity of this Panerai watch. While the camera might not show it, the correct coloration here just from the video, it is actually a green luminosity and not a blue. One other thing to mention, it is a sandwich-style dial which is one of my favorites. As you can see, sort of adds a depth to the dial itself. You can see the sort of slit indentations in between each indents and the arabic numerals. It adds sort of like... It just adds a nice depth to it. And that's because the style of the dials, just a different style dial. Rather than other Panerai watches have painted dials which is the luminosity and the numerals and it's either arabic or just general indents are painted onto the dial itself. There's a nice layer of luminosity with the dial that actually goes on top of it, creating that sort of depth for that luminosity to show. But besides that this is actually an older style watch. This was showcased back in the SIHH Trade Show back in January 2011. This is a special edition watch with only 501 made. This being one of the 501. Specifically, this is what they refer to as one of the sort of historic models of the Panerai which Panerai prided themselves in using sort of old school materials as paying homage to the older style... of the sort of older style historic Panerai models or vintage models as they would say. One of the first thing being that the crystal is not actually a crystal, it's actually a plexiglass for the instead of a standard sapphire crystal for the sort of... for the face of the watch. But besides that, just a very standard Panerai dial. Not much else to say besides sorry as I've mentioned the arabic numerals, the indents, the sandwich-style dial. It is a brown dial. Though a little bit darker than you would normally see. So we're gonna go ahead and move on to the bezel now. The bezel is just simply a nice brushed... A nice mirror-polished bezel that matches with the mirror polish on the case as we move on to the case. Case style is a cushion-style case where it's like a square style case but a little bit more towards the center of it. So you can see it sort of plushes out on the sides. And it's also any sort of mirror-style finish as well or a high polish as some would refer to. So it has a nice, very high shine to it. As you can see, it just sort of reflects the light in my light box very wildly. The case material itself is a rose gold or as Panerai likes to call it sort of a red gold or pink gold. Another thing to mention is the lugs. Lugs are wire-thin lugs that hold on to the black alligator strap. The size of the case, this is a 47 millimeter case size. So this is on much on the larger side of watches. And it actually has a very heavy, sort of a bigger heft to it. So if you're not used to sort of a weigh-y watch this might not be the sort of day to day use watch for you unless you have a bigger size wrist and you enjoy feeling the weight of the watch on your wrist then this might be the watch for you. Moving on to the crown now. The crown is a screw-down crown. We'll go ahead and unscrew it, counter-clockwise as shown. The movement is a Panerai P300 in-house made movement. Specifically, what that means in regular terms is just that this movement is a hand-wound movement. It is not an automatic movement so you do have to wind the watch yourself. About 15 to 20 winds is what you need to get it started once more in the standard position. Pulling the crown out to next position will let you do quick hour jumps which is the hour hand moving itself. And it is bi-directional so you can go forward or backwards. Pulling the crown out to the final position will allow you to adjust both hands bi-directionally and set the time however you like. Okay, push in the crown back in. And always make sure you screw the crown nice and tight and against the case. This watch is rated for a water resistance of 100 meters or 330 feet. Moving on to the strap now. The strap is just a simple black alligator leather strap. The buckle, rose gold buckle with the Panerai name embossed on the tang. That's the other side of the strap. Okay. You can see nice hull marks, as well. The AU 750 for the rose gold. Officine Panerai. Official Panerai. You can see the water resistance even labeled there with a little fish and 100 meters, or again 330 feet. So I'll show you that movement once more. You can see it's actually moving at the moment towards a bridge right here as I just wound it with the crown functions. All right now, let me actually go ahead and show you this watch on my wrist. I'll have to take it out of the box here for a second. Slap. Put in that tang. All right. All right. See, very beautiful rose gold. And there the watch on my wrist. As you can see, it's a very large watch. Once again, it is 47 millimeters for the case size. Brown dial. That sandwich dial absolutely looking gorgeous from that sort of side profile as you can see there. Like again, adds a nice depth to it. Again the crystal is a Hesalite crystal for the front. As you can see, it sits pretty high off the wrist. So it won't suffer under your suit cuffs or dress cuffs but if you're already wearing a 47 millimeter watch I'm pretty sure you wouldn't wanna be hiding your watch anyways. You'd probably wanna show it. Very loud and proud, right? Once again, that black alligator strap. And there it is.
