Hey guys this is Kevin from JazTime.com and today we will be reviewing the IWC Portuguese seven-day automatic. The reference number for this watch is IW500113. We'll be going over the price, dial, bezel, case, crown, strap, clasp and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. Ok so as of June 2017 this watch is actually a discontinued watch. It's been discontinued for quite a bit now or rather quite a while now. So the pricing that we currently have for this watch, you're looking at as low as $9,000 at JazTime.com. Okay, so let's go ahead and go straight into the dial now. So, the IWC, very simplistic dial. We just have a plain white dial with rose gold Arabic numerals. We have the date at the six o'clock position. The IWC name at the 12 o'clock position. The two sub-dials, nine o'clock position being the second sub-dial and the three o'clock position being the day reserve, which is the power of the watch. And as the name states, this is a seven day reserve. So you can actually see the progress on the right here. Okay, for dial configurations, if you're not really interested in the white and rose gold that I have here for casing, you can get this in the rose gold steel or white gold. The dial configuration is only not too many. You're looking at the white and rose gold that I have in my hand. You can also get a white with blue Arabic numerals or just a black dial with steel Arabic numerals rather white, gold arabic numerals. Okay, so let's go ahead and move on to the bezel now. Bezel, very thin bezel all around. It's a high polished bezel. As I turn it to the side you can see the high polish throughout. For the case size, you're looking at a 42.3 millimeter case. So that's from my index finger to my thumb here. 42.33 millimeters. There's a rose gold case. Has quite a high profile being at a 14 millimeter case thickness, but we have this beautiful high-polish on the top. And on the bottom of the case with a satin finish in the center. Tapers very nicely along to the strap. Same can be said about the other side of the case as well. And we have the IWC name emboss ... Sorry, the IWC name embossed onto the crown there. Okay, speaking of the crown, the crown serves very simple functions. It is very simple to just pull out the crown, in which you can adjust the date. So first position. So you can pull the crown out. You can adjust the date at the six o'clock position. You can almost hear that springing in it. A final tug of the crown will stop the second time or the rather the seconds hand in the second sub-dial for precise time settings such as to an atomic clock online. I can adjust to down to the exact seconds. The hands are set bidirectionally. Okay, always make sure press the crown nice and tight against the case, as you want to keep this watch water resistant, specifically for this watch you're looking at 30 meters or 100 feet. Additionally, you can also wind the watch while it's fully pressed into the crown nice and tight. And as you can see, as I wind the watch, you can see that power, the day reserve go up slowly. As you can see I've already gone past the one day mark. As I keep going, I'll go past the two and so on and so forth. So pretty cool feature to have. Moving on, let's go ahead and take a look at the bracelet now, rather the strap. Strap is just a simple brown alligator leather strap. For the buckle we were looking at the IWC name, sand finished buckle here. This is actually just a folding clasp, as you can see there. Very simple. Looks like a buckle and bam, folding clasp. Okay, we have the IWC name embossed on the sandblasted background here with high polish, giving that contrast, making it look very nice. Not much not too much to say about the buckle there or strap there. Very simple. Now moving onto the back now. So we have this beautiful case back. It's the entire case back is a sapphire crystal. So it has that exhibition case. You can see that large oscillator. Almost takes half the watch here. Has the IWC name engraved onto that oscillator as well. Very beautiful. Very cool to look at. Fortunately, no real Geneva wave patterns on the bridge and such. Very just standard for that. The movement that this the exhibition cases housing is IWC's caliber 5101 one movement. It's an in-house made automatic movement. It has a diameter of 37.80 millimeters made up of 44 jules. And it has a power reserves of 168 hours, which is that seven days. The functions of the watch or functions of the movement are the hour, minute, second hand, the power reserve indicator and the date as well. Okay, so let me go actually show you this watch on my wrist now. It's very beautiful, very simple dress watch. As you can see from the front, very simple, very simplistic, very nice dress watch. Unfortunately profile is a little high on the wrist, so it might not fit under your suit cuff, dress cuffs. Might stretch them out a little bit, but still I would rather want to be showing this watch out. It's a very beautiful watch.
