Nautilus Stainless Steel

The Patek Philippe Nautilus was first introduced in the 1970s as a water resistant luxury sports watch. The original designer, Gérald Genta, based aspects of the timepiece’s appearance on ship portholes and this remains a defining characteristic of the Nautilus collection to this day. As the collection has expanded, buyers have been able to make a decision between various different Nautilus models, made from a variety of materials.

Stainless steel models within the Nautilus collection have a classic, enduring appeal, similar to that of the ’70s Nautilus watches. At that time, the concept of a luxury sports watch made from steel was considered a bold approach, but it is more commonplace today and the collection has stood the test of time. Aside from its visual appeal, the stainless steel used by Patek Philippe is durable, affordable and easy to clean.

Models within the stainless steel Nautilus category vary significantly, with complications including date displays, moon phase indicators and dual time zones. Black, blue and white dial colors are available, providing different looks, but all steel Nautilus watches share the same distinctive porthole-like shape and elegant, sporty aesthetic.

Patek Philippe Nautilus Blue DialThe Patek Philippe Nautilus was first introduced in the 1970s. As the collection has expanded, buyers can choose between various different Nautiaxlus models.

Patek Philippe introduced the first Nautilus watch in 1976 and while the collection has evolved in the years since, it retains the defining principles of those original models. More specifically, Nautilus watches are water resistant luxury sports watches, with octagonal bezels, a sense of elegance and a focus on functionality.

While the numerous models in the blue dial Nautilus category vary quite significantly in terms of complications, they are brought together by their dial color. Over the years, blue dials have proved to be extremely popular with luxury watch buyers and manufacturers have responded to this demand. The color works especially well with the Nautilus, however, complimenting its porthole-like design, while ensuring the dial stands out against the case material.

Speaking of which, the materials available on Patek Philippe Nautilus watches with a blue dial include stainless steel, which has a classic appeal, white gold, which provides a similar visual quality to steel but adds an extra sense of luxury, or two-tone rose gold and steel, which adds warmth and an extra level of visual intrigue.

Nautilus Rose GoldThe Patek Philippe Nautilus was first introduced in the 1970s. As the collection has expanded, buyers can choose between various different Nautiaxlus models.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus watch was released in the mid 1970s and has since become one of the manufacturer’s best-known and most popular models. A luxury sports watch, with a distinctive design based on the portholes of a ship, the Nautilus now comes in a variety of different types, with varying complications and case materials.

The rose gold material adds a sense of warmth and softness to the Nautilus design when compared to the original stainless steel design. It is also a more precious material, enhancing the sense of luxury, while some feel the color provides a more feminine appeal, and this has helped to make it a popular choice of material for women.

Watches in this category include full rose gold watches, as well as two-tone rose gold and stainless steel watches. Black, blue and brown dial colors are available, while complications on some of these watches range from simple date displays, through to chronographs, moonphase indicators and day/night indicators.

Nautilus Moonphase

Launched in 1976, the Patek Philippe Nautilus is an elegant, luxurious sports watch, which offers water resistance, and design features inspired by the portholes on a boat. As the iconic collection has grown, new complications have been added and one of the most intriguing is the moonphase indicator, displaying the different lunar stages.

Patek Philippe’s moonphase indicators make use of a ‘bosom’ style display. When the waning moon disappears from view on one side of the display, the waxing moon begins to appear on the other side. This complication is popular within the luxury watch market, because it requires careful engineering and helps to enhance the appearance of the dial.

Moonphase Nautilus models may also include other complications, such as date or annual calendar display. Watches within this category are available with black, blue or grey dial colors, while there is also a choice of stainless steel, rose gold or white gold for the case material, depending on your personal preference and available budget.

Patek Philippe Nautilus ChronographThe Patek Philippe Nautilus was first introduced in the 1970s. As the collection has expanded, buyers can choose between various different Nautiaxlus models.

Patek Philippe’s Nautilus watches are defined by their octagonal bezels and porthole-like cases. The sports watch was originally introduced in 1976 and the collection has since expanded, with different models providing access to different complications. One of the most popular of these is the chronograph. In simple terms, a chronograph watch is a timepiece that can be used as both a display watch and a stop watch, allowing for precise measurement of time.

Within this category are two main variants. The Nautilus Chronograph Date models offer both a chronograph complication and a date display window at the 3 o’clock position. Alternatively, the Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph combines the chronograph complication with a dual time zone display, which is ideal for those who travel frequently.

Nautilus Chronograph Date timepieces are available in a choice of either rose gold or a two-tone combination of rose gold and stainless steel. Meanwhile, the Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph is crafted from high-quality stainless steel. In terms of dial colors, the two choices available in this category are blue or black.

Patek Philippe Nautilus Annual Calendar

The Patek Philippe Nautilus is an iconic luxury sports watch, which is elegant enough to wear in the office, or on a dinner date. It was first introduced in the mid 1970s and took inspiration from the portholes of ships. In more recent times, the manufacturer has expanded the collection, introducing models with a variety of interesting features.

Patek Philippe’s annual calendar is one of the manufacturer’s most appealing and useful complications, automatically accounting for the difference between months with 30 or 31 days. As a result of this, it delivers great accuracy and only requires manual intervention to correct the display at the end of February. Three highly legible apertures display the day, date and current month on the dial, adding to its standard timekeeping function.

Models in this category are crafted from high-quality stainless steel, providing them with broad appeal, and there is a choice of either a steel bracelet or a leather strap. Beyond this, the various Nautilus annual calendar watches also come with either a black dial or a blue dial color, depending on your personal preference.
