David Beckham is one of the most recognizable celebrities in the world and aside from his sporting prowess, the retired British soccer star and cultural icon is well known for his good looks and impeccable sense of style. Indeed, he was even named the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ by People Magazine as recently as 2015.
Given his high profile and links to the fashion world, it is understandable that people take an interest in everything he wears, from the clothes on his back, to the watches on his wrist. In this article, we take a closer look at the various Rolex models Beckham either owns or has worn in public.
Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea 116600 Ceramic Black
Although David Beckham is known to be a keen collector of Rolex watches, one particular model seems to have graced his wrist more than any other in recent years – the Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea. He has been seen wearing this model while in attendance for NBA games in the United States and soccer games back home in England.
In actual fact, it is thought that Beckham owns two different versions of the Deepsea. The first is a standard stainless steel model, with a black dial. The second, however, is a modified version, entirely in black, which is believed to have been customized for him by the Bamford Watch Department.
Other Rolex Models – Rolex Submariner & GMT-Master
The Rolex Submariner is a popular choice for many celebrities, although David Beckham was seen on the cover of GQ magazine wearing one that was a little bit special. The vintage model, complete with a NATO strap, has a black dial, black bezel and is believed to be a Reference 5513, which was produced in extremely limited numbers.
In addition, the sports star has been seen over the years wearing a yellow gold Rolex Datejust, and a vintage GMT-Master. The most interesting feature of the GMT-Master is that Beckham appears to have replaced its original Rolex bracelet or strap with his own custom brown leather fat strap.
Throughout the years, David Beckham has built up an extensive watch collection and it is worth pointing out that not all of the timepieces come from Rolex. At one point, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy midfielder had an official association with Breitling and was even the face of the Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime. As a result, he was regularly seen wearing that particular model.
More recently, earlier this year, Beckham signed a deal to become a brand ambassador for the Rolex subsidiary, Tudor. Already, he has been seen wearing two different versions of the Tudor Heritage Black Bay and we will surely be seeing him wearing various other Tudor watches in the months and years ahead.
