Today, we'll be talking about the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 31 in stainless steel with a candy pink dial and an Oyster bracelet reference number 277200. This is one of the newer 2020 releases in the line of Oyster professionals in 31 millimeters. This candy pink dial was released alongside other new color dials, such as the coral red, turquoise, yellow, green, bright blue, and many others to breathe a new life into the Oyster Perpetual series. This color in particular, however, is only available in this size, the Oyster Perpetual 31 and 36 while there are other models like the 28, 34 and 41. Those are the models, don't have all the same colors as offered in the 31 and 36 lines. I'll be talking about the case, bezel, crystal, dial, movement and bracelet. And I'll be giving you my thoughts throughout the video. All right, this case, as indicated in his name, the Oyster Perpetual 31 is, 31 millimeters in diameter. The entire case is made of Oyster steel, constructing the monoblock middle case with the screw-down case back and winding crown. The Oyster steel, as is typical in Rolex fashion, is their own mixture of steel and other metals to give exceptional durability and the ability to maintain a high polish, as you can see here. The case back contains these typical screw-down case, helping to ensure water resistance down to a hundred meters or 330 feet. In addition to this, the right side contains the signature Rolex winding crown, which once screwed tightly to the case continues to ensure superior water resistance. The crystal on the front is of a transparent scratch-resistant sapphire. So there's no fear of suit threads or buttons damaging it. The bezel is a smooth domed bezel, also made of Oyster steel to help protect that crystal that provides space within the dial for all of the necessary parts. The dial on this model is of the candy pink color, a color not made before this year 2020. It gives this watch a sense of timelessness and that this particular tint of pink brings me to a particular time in the mid 20th century with an almost art deco type of look, despite that there are many other relevant indicators. Hour markers on this model, art index markers, made in 18 carat white gold with Rolex's own chroma-light display applications on them for long lasting blue luminescence. Alright, and we can turn out the lights so you can see that clearly here. All right, and notice that these stick style hands also maintain that chromo-line display as well, helping the wearer to readily see the time in just about any low light situation, right. I'm turning the lights back on. There we go. The crown contains a Rolex logo and ensures water resistance down to 100 meters or 330 feet as the twin row twin lock double waterproofness system to maintain the 10 bar water resistance and it only has two basic functions, simply winding the internal mechanism as well as setting the time by moving the minute hand and in doing so, it also hacks the seconds, meaning that it stops the seconds hand for precise timekeeping. All right. And the part of this time piece that makes this all possible would be the movement that is the 22 32 caliber with a plus or minus two second time differential per 24 hours, continuing to exceed, Swiss standards of timekeeping, is a professional, mechanical and self winding time piece. So you only need to wind at once fully while wearing it to allow the timepiece to continue winding throughout the day. The movement allows for the movement of the center hour, minute, and seconds hands, as well as the hacking seconds for precise time setting, as I demonstrated just now. The oscillators contains high-performance paraflex shock absorbers, and a Syloxi hairspring in Silicon to prevent electromagnetic interference as well as resist temperature changes, keeping the movement consistent in nearly any condition, summer, winter, winter storm, California fire, you name it. The power reserve is 55 hours on this model. So you can set it down on a Friday evening, pick it back up early Monday morning, ready to conduct business. And it'll be keeping track of time, just fine, but with a dial like this, I'd find it hard to put down for more than a day. Rolex certainly made a very special timepiece here, even if it's just the dial color. The bracelet on this is the Oyster style bracelet made of Oyster steel and flat three-piece links, all brushed on top for texture and diffusion of light, depending on your angle of viewing with a high polish along the sides, the clasp is the fold over Oyster clasp with the easy five millimeter comfort extension as you can see here, you can simply pull it out and that, there it is in the open position, to close it back up, simply fold it back on itself and snap it back into place. Easy and simple. All right, and now we can try this on. All right, yeah, look at this watch on my wrist, a 31 millimeter diameter is a bit small for me, but I still quite like it. So my wrist size is about between 7.25 to 7.5 inches in circumference. So, you know, while I do appreciate these small form factor, the proportions of this bracelet to case to dial ratio really makes us seem more of an accessory to me than an actual timepiece. But, you know, obviously that's just my opinion. Your personal mileage may vary. So who is this for? It's for anyone who wants the newest of the new but without really requiring anything extra than just simply looking good pink, especially candy pink with a smooth dial that gives you that same consistent tint from just about any angle. It goes with any dress or suit and with pink having comes into style with just about anybody, regardless of gender, this watche's honestly, just for anybody, it's an excellent entry point for anyone looking to start their Rolex collection, as it's both stylish and elegant to the point of not actually breaking the bank when compared to other Rolex models.
