Description

Hey, welcome back to Jaztime. Jaztime.com is an online store that buys, sells, and trades authentic luxury watches. We make these videos so you can easily choose the best watch for yourself in the comfort of your own home. We offer the lowest prices anywhere online. If you'd like to know the price simply click on the links in the description below. We greatly appreciate it if you purchase your next watch from us at jaztime.com. Today, we'll be going over a Rolex DateJust 41 with a blue dial roman numeral style hour marks smooth steel bezel with a jubilee style bracelet. Reference number One two six three zero zero. We'll be going over the case, the dial, the bezel the crown functions, the movement itself as well as the bracelet and I'll be giving you my thoughts on all of these throughout the video. Now, taking a look at the case we have a 41 millimeter case from finger to thumb. It measures 41 millimeters in diameter as indicated in its name, DateJust 41. It is a 13, well just under 13 millimeter thickness. So it slides very easily under the suit cuff especially with that domed, smooth bezel. It has the screw down case back with Rolex winding crown to ensure waterproofness down to a hundred meters or 330 feet. The Sapphire crystal on the front is scratch resistant and features a cyclops lens directly over the date for ease of reading at the three o'clock aperture on the dial. Now looking at the key case, we have complete high polish no satin brushing on any surface here except directly on the case back and going directly down to the logs still high polished. And even onto the bezel. This bezel is also a high polished bezel all the way around. It gives it a certain sense of radiance. A different type of look that you would get from say a fluted style or even a diamond style bezel. All right now, going into the dial here we have a blue Sun Ray style dial. It's easier if I hold it at this angle rather than straight on because you kind of lose a lot of color when you're looking at when it's reflecting a lot of darkness. My light box is showing enough light at this angle. So you can actually see all the different ranges of blues. All the different values of blues, rather that you can see within that sun burst sort of effect that you see on that dial. Very excellent finishing bi-rollers here. Now note that the hour marks are all roman numerals in 18 karat white gold, same as the hands also 18 karat white gold. And also taking a look at the functions here. It works as you would expect from a DateJust of this caliber. Simply unwind the crown to the first position. This allows you to wind the watch. About 20 to 30 full winds is all you really need to get to the full power reserve. And once you start feeling that damn thing starting to ramp up in resistance that's when you know that you've reached the full power reserve of the watch. Pull the crown out to the next position. The second position allows you to advance the date forward by one for about a quarter turn each time. So if you find yourself on say the 30th of the month and tomorrow ends up is actually the first of the next month a half turn is all you need to advance it to the first of the next month. Rather easy, no extra faff. Pull the crown to the next position and final position. This actually stops the seconds hand and actually allows you to have that hacking function. So you can actually set the time precisely as required, right by moving the minute hand and then press the crown all the way back in and screw it tightly back against the case to ensure that 100 feet, 100 meter water resistance. So what allows all of this to work is the in-house made Rolex caliber 32, 35. Again, made in-house by Rolex. It has a plus or minus two second per day time differential after casing exceeding Swiss standards of time keeping. It features the center, hour, minute, and seconds hands the instantaneous date with rapid setting and the stop seconds for precise time setting. All of which I had just demonstrated with the crown functions. The oscillator is a paramagnetic blue parachrom hairspring with high performance paraflex shock absorbers. So what does that mean? That means you can take a few bumps. You can get relatively close to magnets and I'll be keeping track of time just fine. No issue there. And also, it has a bi-directional self winding winder with a perpetual rotor on the inside of the case. You can't see it through here but simply just wind the watch to it's full capacity and putting this on your wrist with your natural wrist movements will actually keep it wound up to it's approximate 70 hour power reserve. Extremely impressive for a watch of this caliber. That is almost three whole days. So you can set this down on a Friday evening pick it back up on a Monday morning ready to conduct business. No need to even wind the watch. Very impressive indeed. Now looking at the framing here we have the jubilee style bracelet here. All stainless steel. The middle three links being high polish while the outer links are satin brushed finished with an all oyster steel, Rolex's own proprietary blend of steel with other elements to create a very strong steel with a high polish presentation available on those high polish areas. And again, high polish on the outside of these lengths as well. With a nice taper down to the clasp here we have the oyster folding crown clasp here which opens up very nicely. Simply lift the top and you have the Rolex stamp on the inside and you know that you're dealing with steel here. All right. Now the advantage to having the oyster folding clasp here is that you have a five millimeter extension. Your wrist happens to change throughout the day depending on your hydration levels as well as your general climate. If it tends to be hot in your area you may need a little bit of extra space because your wrist may expand. So all you really need to do is just open up the bracelet to this point and just pull it straight out. There you go. Five millimeters of extra space. And if you'll also notice, it gives you pretty much an entire length's worth of length there. All right? So there's no need to remove or add links. Once you have this sized properly to your wrist all you need to do is just get that extra five millimeters. And once your wrist has gone down in size you can just fold it back in on itself and it clips right in very easily. And while we're here, I can actually try it on give you my thoughts as to how it wears on the wrist. Now, I will tell you that this is a 41 millimeter watch and it measures about 47 and a half millimeters in height. The lug to lug distance. So it is a bit larger than it would really seem. So I'm getting a lot more case. Not a whole lot of bracelet on the top. Not a whole lot of bracelet on the bottom. I'm getting a lot of case here. But that's not always a bad thing because it makes it very easy to read this dial especially with those roman numerals. The larger numerals like the eight and the four tend to take up a lot of space on the dial. So having those spaced out very nicely gives it a very good sense of breathing room on the wrist. When it comes to the overall look at least. Very good wrist presence when it comes to the overall size and you can't go wrong with a Sun Ray blue. You get every single value of blue in this watch. It's very nice, very royal actually in presentation. It gives it that slight art deco look with those Roman numeral hour marks and the very very thin minute and second track on the perimeter of the dial. Very classy. All right. Now, taking a look on the wrist it also has a little bit of more flaring at least on my wrist. I have a seven inch circumference wrist so I'm getting a little bit more flaring. The lugs tend to taper outward and not downward and that's actually not a bad thing because I do like the extra breathability that this has. That's not sticking out so far that I will actually end up smacking it on anything. All right. And with the overall breathability of the jubilee style bracelet you can't go wrong with this. Your wrist will not sweat at all. It's very nice and very breathable among all of these lengths here. And when it comes to the overall weight distribution pretty good I'd say. Closer to the case. Not as much in the bracelet so it's not like you're wearing nothing but you definitely know that you're wearing a wristwatch but you're certainly not swinging around a big heavy metal object on your wrist. There's not that much of a weight difference there. All right. Very comfortable, very nice on the wrist. Yeah, that's enough of what I think. What do you guys think about this watch?
