Today, I'm going to be reviewing the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph reference 116505, rose gold with chocolate index dial. I'm gonna talk to you guys about the case, the bezel, the dial, the bracelet, the movement, try it on and give you my thoughts. Let's dive right in. It's a oyster case and it's 40 millimeters from my thumb to my index finger. Rolex makes their sports watches mostly in 40 millimeter, which is an average size. They also make it all the way up to 44, but the Daytona, it only comes in 40 millimeter and it has this oyster style case. What do I mean by that? If you look at this case, you see how the edges, these lugs right here, they're streamlined and they're skinny. They're not boxed. If you compare it, for example, to other sports watches like the Submariner or GMT, it has sloped edges right here. You see how it has like clean. These edges are kind of going inward. It has an oyster, this is the same case as the oyster case, like on a datejust for example, you see how they're like going inward like that? Yeah. Well that's what it is. It's 40 millimeters and it's ever rose gold, also known as rose gold. It uses a mono-block, middle case with a screw-down case back and winding crown. And I'll bring your attention since this is a precious metal. If you look at the back of the case, you can see where my thumb, my index finger is pointing to right there at each of the lugs, there's engravings. And those engraving signify that this watch is precious metal. I'm gonna try to bring it closer to you so you can see, and it's too little for you to see, you have to have a loop to see it, but it's at the four corners. And that's one of the ways that you can tell that this watch is using a precious metal, that precious metal being ever rose. And by the way, they call it ever rose because it stays forever Rose gold. Rolex actually uses their own gold foundries to mix copper into rose gold, which gives it this rose color and other companies that don't do it quite as well. Their ever rose eventually fades to yellow gold. For Rolex, it stays forever Rose gold. Hence the name ever rose gold. Okay. Now let's move on from here and talk about the bezel. The bezel is not movable, you cannot move it. Some people think you can move it, but you cannot, it's fixed. It has an engraved tachy metric scale and 18 carat ever rose gold. Basically, it's just an unmovable bezel there's videos on how to use it, but most of us are not gonna actually use it. So I don't really want to talk about it in this video. Now let's talk about something important here, which is the dial. The dial is a chocolate dial or brown dial. It's actually a new dial. They used to make this chocolate in Arabic numbers. You see how these have indexes at the hour position? They used to make this chocolate dial or brown dial with Arabic numbers. They don't do that anymore. So now it's been replaced with this dial, which I think looks much more streamlined and actually looks quite better if you ask me. And it also luminesce's quite nicely at night and it looks like that if I'm shining a light at it, which makes it very easy to read, I think it makes it better, easier to read than its predecessor. And that's the only difference that they also make this dial. I think in five different dials, pink, white, black, anyways, you gotta check the website and our website that is, to see what other colors they make. But yes, this one is chocolate, which is a new dial. So if you like it, please go to and buy it. Now the movement, they actually have not changed the movement. The movement is still a 4130, 4130. It has a precision of plus, minus two seconds a day with a power reserve of 72 hours. It has a pair of magnetic loop hair comb hairspring and is automatic. Meaning you don't have to wind it. Now, I guess I forgot to say that this watch is a chronograph and a chronograph means that it has these three sub dials and that's used for calculating elapsed time. How much time has passed. The top is a start, stop button. Once the second hand goes around in 60 seconds, this little sub dial on the right will move over one tick. That's the minute, once a minute hand goes around 60 minutes, the hour hand will move over one notch. So this can calculate elapsed time of up to 12 hours. Simply start it, stop it, and then reset it. And you see the second hand go back to the top? Yes, so that's pretty much it. Now let's talk about the bracelet. The bracelet is an oyster link, oyster bracelet, flat three piece link. That means one, two and three with high polish down the center and brush on the sides. And if you look at it, it looks just like every other oyster bracelet, except that it has a folding oyster safety lock. And how does that work? Is you close the top like this and you have it. You close the safety lock like that. Now other datejusts for example, don't have the safety lock. This watch being a sports watch has a oyster safety clasp. And that's what it is right there. That's what you see. Okay, it has this new style buckle. And again, I'll bring your attention to this. You see where my left middle finger is pointing to? Those little marks right there are hallmarks, gold hallmarks actually that tell you that your watch is gold in case you didn't know. Okay. All right, anyhow. So that's it for the review. I want to try it on and give you my thoughts, but before I do, I want to let you know that you can buy this watch at for the lowest price anywhere online. That's right. And I'm making this videos for the purposes of reviewing it. And if you liked this review, subscribe, and if you want to buy the watch, go to My thoughts on this watch are that, you know, I really liked the Daytona. Daytona is a classic watch. It's one of the most classic and you know, it's one of the best watches that Rolex makes. And of course, that's represented in the price tag. Now, rose gold. You have the option of rose gold platinum and yellow gold. Rose gold, I think is a very good compromise between being too flashy i.e. yellow gold and being not flashy at all. i.e. platinum or white gold. It's right in the middle of that, it looks rose, which is, it's obviously gold, but it's not in your face like yellow, and it's not out of your face like white gold. So I think it's a very good mix it still obviously looks gold. And you know, most people who buy a watch that are considering a watch in the $30,000 range want people to know that they actually have a gold watch on their wrist. So I think in that sense, this is a very good watch. I also liked that it's sporty, but you know, it has an oyster case, so it can be used dressy and it's thin. So it's not only a sports watch. You could easily wear this with a suit, but you could easily wear it with shorts and T-shirt too. It goes both ways, that's what I like about it. So, you know, my thoughts on this? Well, if you can afford a $30,000 plus watch, then you should definitely consider this one. And if you consider its competitors, it's quite a bargain. If you compare it with like a Patek or a AP gold, this is a much better, in terms of value. You get a all gold watch, you know, in the 30s. Whereas an AP and Patek, you know, you get like a stainless steel. So, for the value, it's actually a really good value. You know, I know we're talking to 30,000 plus, but it's still a pretty good value. Okay, those are my thoughts. Thanks for watching.
