Hey guys, this is Kevin from Jaztime.com. And today we'll be reviewing the Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days Titanio DLC. The reference number for this watch is PAM-629. We'll be going over the price, the dial, bezel, case, crown, strap, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. So, as of June 2017, you can get this at a authorized Panerai retailer for $11,700. Unfortunately, this watch is a limited edition watch and is limited to 300 pieces. So the pricing for the market value, currently, for us, you can get at Jazztime.com for as low as $13,000. So let's go ahead and jump right into the dial now. So, the dial's a bit special, it's what's called the California dial. Which is a black dial with luminous Arabic and Roman numeral hour markers. So on the bottom half we have the Arabic, and at the top half we have the Roman numerals with index 3, 6, 9, and a triangle at the 12. And all those hour markers are luminescent. The reason why it's special is because a California dial is typically made on Radiomir watches. So this is is the first Luminor to have the California dial. Besides that, very simple dial. The hands are of rose gold. And it really contrasts against that black dial while still matching that coloring of the hour markers and the luminescence in the hands themselves. For the crystal, you're looking at a high-domed crystal with a flat plateau. As you can see there. And that crystal is a sapphire crystal-colored corundum. Moving on to the bezel now, the bezel is a slight-domed bezel with, that is brushed titanium. The case is a titanium, 47 millimeters in diameter, so my index finger to my thumb here. It's a titanium case with DLC coating. The DLC stands for diamond-like coating, which is a carbon coating that gives the casing a synthetic diamond-like qualities, such as corrosion resistance, added toughness, and it also gives it that nice black finish. Also, because the watch is made out of the titanium, it does have a much lighter feel to it, So, even being that 47 millimeters, it won't feel like a bird on the wrist, it actually sits very comfortably on a wrist because of the curve of the lugs, and just the overall lightness of the titanium. Additionally, the flat case back helps as well. The case back is this screwed-on case back. And it just overall feels very nice on the wrist. So, additional measurements for the watch, you're looking at the side-to-side, from the left side to the end of the crown protector, you're looking at a 54 millimeter in length. The thickness of the watch, you're looking at 15.88 millimeters, so close to 16 millimeters of thickness. So it does sit high on the wrist. Moving on to the crown now. The crown has Panerai's trademark crown protector that locks the crown in place, for a water resistance of 100 meters, or 330 feet. Unlocking the crown is as simple as pulling it down. In the current position, it is in the hand-winding position. So you can wind the watch in this position. A small tug of the crown will set it to the first position, in which you can do quick hour jumps. As you can see, only the hour hand will move. And then the final position, you can set both hands bi-directionally. Pressing the crown all the way back in, once again, locks our crown down. For the strap, now. Moving on to the strap. You have a dark brown leather strap. Very nice. It keeps the same thickness throughout, as you can see. It doesn't taper like alligator leather bands, it keeps that same thickness throughout. Has a tang buckle. That's also titanium with DLC coating. So very simple, very nice, and matches that aesthetic very nicely. Let's go ahead and move on to the movement now. So let's go ahead and move on to the case back now. Over here. So here's the case back, it is a screw down titanium case back. We have the official Panerai name engraved onto the back there. The actual, rather the serial numbers of the watch are located right here, but of course I've blocked it out. The bottom. The bottom here has a little embossment of the 100 meters with a little fish, for the water resistance, and of course the titanium on the bottom left here. So, the movement for the Panerai is a hand-wound mechanical movement, meaning that you actually have to wind this watch manually. It's not automatic, so you have to manually hand wind it. It's Panerai's calibre 3000. It's 5.3 millimeters thick and it's made of 21 jewels, has a Incabloc anti-shock device, and a power reserve of three days. Meaning, you can put this down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Monday evening, it'll still be keeping time. And one thing to mention, is because the movement's a hand-wound mechanical movement, it actually attributes to giving the case a smaller size. So even though it's still sitting at the 15.88 millimeters of thickness, it actually could've been much larger if it was an automatic movement. Alright, so I'll actually go ahead and show you this watch on the wrist now. So there's the watch on the wrist. See, fits very nicely on the wrist. Profile, like I said, it is gonna be a little bit high, because it is that 16 millimeters of thickness.
