Today, I'm going to be reviewing the Rolex Day-Date 40 Rose Gold, or Ever Rose Gold, reference 228235 Sun Dust Roman Dial. I'm going to talk to you guys about the case, the bezel, the dial, the bracelet, the movement, try it on and give you my thoughts. So let's dive right in. It's 40 millimeter. That's from my thumb to my index finger. That's the diameter of this watch. It's the largest of the Day-Date Collection that Rolex makes. They also make the Day-Dates in 36 millimeter. This one's in 40, so it can be either worn by a man. Also, I've seen some women who like to wear very large watches, try a 40. Although 36 is all, already pretty big. Now, as I said, at the beginning of the video, this watches Ever Rose Gold. That means that it's Rose Gold, Pink Gold, Rolex calls it Ever Rose. For the reason that it is forever Rose Gold. They actually mix bronze with the gold in their own gold foundries to give it this Rose colored look or Ever Rose. And obviously the word ever is used because of this watch will maintain its pink color forever. As I said at the beginning, this case is 40 millimeters and Rolex actually uses a Monel block middle case with a screw down case backing winding crown. Okay, now let's talk about the bezel. The bezel is a fluted 18 karat Ever Rose Gold again, keeping the every Rose continuity. In fact, every part of this watch is Ever Rose Gold or Pink Gold. The bezel is fluted and it looks like this. As you see it here, it has these sort of little serrated edges here. You see that kind of shines in different light like that. Okay. And that's very iconic Rolex. Now let's move on to the dial. The dial is a Roman dial. And what I mean by that is these hour markers are Roman, they're Roman numerals. Now they also make dials with index styles and diamond dials. This one's in Roman. Now, Roman to me, it looks very classy. On the other hand, index is a little bit more practical, in that you can see it at night because it luminescence. Now this one is a Sun Dust dial. It's kind of, I didn't know Sun Dust was a color but I guess apparently Rolex calls it a color, is kind of like, a mix between silver and sort of like pink. And they make Sun Dust, if you were to look at it, Yellow Gold, that equivalent of that would be Silver Roman, but they don't make that. So in Rose Gold, because putting silver on here would be kind of funny. So you have to match it with the Rose Gold. So anyways, they only make this in Sun Dust, which is what you see here. Okay. Now let's move on to the movement. The movement is at caliber 3255. I believe that's a update from the older version, 3155, it's more precise. And it has a longer power reserve of 70 hours. Now, since we have the watch turned over on its back, I wanted to show you the hallmarks of gold. You see at the corner at the edge of these lugs, at the edge of each of these lugs, you can see sort of hallmarks. Those hallmarks are telling you that the watch is gold. Okay. And similarly at the buckle, you can see that as well. See, I'm trying to show you. You can't really see it without a loop, but it's there. Okay. Now the bracelet is a President Semicircular 3-Piece Link with an 18 carat Ever Rose Gold. And the clasp is a concealed folding crown clasp. What that means is that when you close the bracelet, it ends up looking like a, just a bracelet. You don't see anything else. I think it's a very nice touch. It's a very smart way to do the bracelet. I really liked that. As I told you at the beginning of this video, that the watch has both the day and the date, that hence the name Day-Date. That's the date. And that's the day, Monday through Friday or Monday through Sunday. And the date goes 1 through 31. So there you have it. Okay. As from my thoughts, my thoughts are well, President, the President watch is iconic. It is one of the most sought after precious metal watches that Rolex makes. If not the most sought after. This watch being in Rose Gold, Rose gold has really made a huge comeback. You know, it used to be yellow to be the most fancy and most desirable. But now, nowadays, a lot of people would like the Ever Rose, it's a little bit less flashy than Yellow Gold but it's still a precious metal. So it still looks awesome.
