Description

Now, if I covered up the name on this you'd think that this would be a Vacheron Overseas, but actually it's a Rolex. Welcome back to JazTime. JazTime.com is an online store that buys, sells, and trades authentic luxury watches. We make these videos so you can easily choose the best watch for yourself in the comfort of your own home. We offer the lowest prices anywhere online. If you'd like to know the price, simply click on the links in the description below. We greatly appreciate if you purchase your next watch from us at JazTime.com. Today, we'll be going over a very special wash actually, only available in the Day-Date 36 variant with this blue ombre dial. I get diamonds at the six and nine eight round diamonds as well, entirely in white gold with the presence style bracelet. Reference number 1-2-8-2-3-9. Again, this is a Day Date 36. The only model that houses this special type of dial this blue or ombre dial. Andre stands for sort of like this gradient that starts out from the center of the dial. You have a very nice mid-tone blue that as you move outward gets to very very dark shades to almost complete blackness at the very edge of the dials, as you can see. All right, well more on the dial in a moment, but anyway. I'll be going over the case, the dial, the bezle, the crown of functions. So as a bracelet and the movement. And I'll be giving you my thoughts on all of those throughout this video. Now, as is indicated in the name. This is a 36 millimeter case from finger to thumb. This is a Day Date 36 as indicated in the name, right. It has a monoblock middle case screw down case deck and wine-in crown to ensure water proof-ness, down to a 100 meters or 330 feet. This is all in white gold. Now you can tell that this is all in white gold because you can take a look underneath the lugs and you can see these hallmarks placed by Rolex very hard to focus on them and see them with this camera. But they're certainly there. You can see them with your eyes or under a nice, powerful loop again, white gold. So, you know, you are dealing with precious metals all high polish with this bezel as well. This bezel is a fluid style bezle with the original intention of screwing directly onto the case to ensure water resistance this fluid bezel sort of a mark of distinction now. So it's no longer absolutely needed because it's not you know, these like modern technologies that made it so that you don't really need to have a front bezel to screw onto the watch face itself. Let me focus here. Okay. You don't need to, you know, have this here because you know, this is already watertight enough but having this fluted bezel allows people to, you know know that this is, you know, definitely a Rolex and it certainly catches the eye very nicely. All right, moving inward toward the dial. Now again, a blue ombre dial. I already went over the specifications of that but it also has eight round diamonds with baguette style diamonds for the six and nine very nicely balanced against the 12 o'clock day aperture and the three o'clock date aperture as you can see underneath the Cyclops lends directly on the Sapphire crystal also scratch resistant, right. And now taking a look, do we have a, a minute or hour track? Well, no, no, no, really not really. Yeah. It's entirely, you know, yeah. It wouldn't be readable against this, you know the darkest shades of blue. And certainly I believe Rolex has really knocked it out of the park with this one their ability to really create that sort of depth without actually breaking the 2D plane of this dial. All right. It looks absolutely deep, absolutely gorgeous. And in the sunlight, absolutely beautiful. Now, the crown functions here, let's go over those in a moment here. Works just as you would expect from any other data it's simply on wining the crown. So the first position, so you can wind the watch. If you're at a dead stop it only takes about 20 to 30 full wines. And once you start getting to the full power reserve the damping starts to ramp-up. So it becomes a little bit more difficult to wind. That's when you know you're at your full power reserve, right. You can pull out to the next position and rotate clockwise allows you to advance the date. As you can see in that date window there. Forward, it's about a quarter turn per day, all right. Rather easy. And you can turn it counterclockwise to advance the day, up at the 12 o'clock aperture, as you can see. And it advances it's forward, all right now pressing or pulling the crown rather to the final position, that seconds hand. So it's, it stops there. So you can then place them in, in hand precisely as needed place the crown directly back against the case, screw it in tightly to ensure that superior water resistance. Down to a 100 meters or 330 feet below sea level. Now what allows all of this to happen is the movement. And you can't see it through the case back here. You were certainly getting your white gold metal content here worth, very heavy. The movement inside is the 3255 caliber made in-house by Rolex with a plus or minus 2 second per day, time differential after casing exceeding Swiss standards of timekeeping. It also has these center hour, minute, and seconds hands with the instantaneous day and date in the 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock apertures with unrestricted rapid setting. What does that mean? Unrestricted rapid setting means that you can set the day and the date at any time of the day. You don't have to set it, you know, after 8:30 or before 6:30 PM. Because other older movements and other watch brands restrict that time period for the day, or the day and date aperture mechanisms, to kick in. So, you know, messing with those functions during those hours of 8:30 PM to 6:30 AM or rather the other way around 6:30 PM to 8:30 AM could potentially damage or even break the movement. Not, so with this Rolex the unrestricted rapid setting allows you to set the day and the date at any time of the day you don't have to worry about it, right. It also has the stop seconds for precise time setting, as I demonstrated with that hacking sync, hacking seconds function. It also has the oscillator and blue pair chrome hairspring. And it also has a high-performance set of pair of flux shock absorbers. What does that mean? You can get relatively close to magnets, not, not something powerful as an MRI, or, you know and you don't need to, you know, put this near a or you don't have to use a Jack Hammer on this to break it. But certainly it will take, you know random bumps and the like, and it will be keeping time just fine, no need to worry about that. It also has a bi-directional self winding rotor on the inside to allow you to wind the watch just by wearing it. And all of that allows you for 70 hours of power reserve. Excellent, excellent engineering by Rolex here. So what that means is you can essentially place this down on a Monday or a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Monday morning, ready to conduct business no need to wind the watch at all. Now looking at the framing here we have the bracelet, the President Style bracelet which combines the best of both worlds the Oyster Style bracelet, the flat three-piece links along with the semicircular Jubilee Style bracelet, right. And having all of those working together gives you this present style bracelet satin finished on the outer links, high polish down the center plenty of space in there for breath-ability it also has this concealed folding crown class. So that allows the bracelet to effectively just look absolutely continuous with no real breaks in it. The only break in it being, the Rolex Crown. Now to open the concealed folding crown class all you need to do is just, put your finger underneath that crown pull and it opens very easily. It doesn't open as easy as you think simply bumping something will not open it, right. So you have to actually pull that trigger and it opens very easily, very handily, right. And taking a look at the inside. We also have the list of hallmarks on here. So you know that this bracelet also is, entirely made of white gold. And while we're here, I can actually try it on and give you some more of my thoughts as to how it wears on the wrist. How it feels and the overall wearing experience. Now on the wrist, 36 millimeters, right. I can, I have a very good ratio of bracelet on the 6 o'clock as well as the 12 o'clock side here. So I have a very good framing of the bracelet with the case here. Very easy to see, very easy to read, and absolutely gorgeous overall look here. And when it comes to the readability with those diamonds the diamonds catch light very easily. And so from just about any angle you can read the time very easily and against that dark parts of, you know the dark parts of this blue ombre dial makes it very easy to read those hour barks as well as the hands on this watch face. And when it comes to the wearing experience, again very breathable on the wrist. This is all white gold solid white gold, along the bracelet. And so all of that acting as the counterweight to this very heavy case. Actually makes it, you know actually not that bad. It's, well, I won't say it as bad at all because you certainly get your gold, your white gold contents worth here, with this watch. It has the, all of this mechanism all of this movement inside the solid gold, white gold case. Which altogether, is rather heavy. So all of this bracelet acting as a counterweight sort of, to the brace, or to the, the case rather. Places the center of gravity a little bit closer to the case then, you know, than to the center. But again at such a small form factor it's about like 12, 12 millimeters in thickness. So we'll slide very easily under a suit cuff, no need to worry there. All right, this is an excellent watch, for just about anyone and anyone who really wants to really show off. And with this 36 millimeter size, it fits just about anyone. My wrist is seven, seven inches in circumference, so and it fits me perfectly. And all the larger wrists you'll get more bracelet on a smaller wrist. You'll have more case showing than bracelet. That being said, I would love to hear your thoughts on this watch because, honestly it all comes down to this dial the way that the dial just pops even though it's a very cool background there's nothing really warm here. The, the fact that it's so dark it really actually pops out more than, you know, the the rest of the case, the bezel or even the bracelet and, you know, so I I would love to see, I love to hear what you guys think. Leave some comments down below, let us know what you think. And as always like this video, if you learned anything or just simply like the watch.
