Rolex Datejust 36 116234 Blue Index Fluted White Gold Stainless Steel Jubilee - Brand NewaHey guys this is Kevin from Jaztime.com. Today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 36. Reference number 116234. We'll be going over the price, the dial bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. Okay, so as of February 2018 you can get this Rolex Datejust at a Rolex Authorized Retailer for $7,950. Or you can come to Jaztime.com and take a look at our lowest prices anywhere else online before you go through with your order. Alright so let's go ahead and move on to the dial of the watch now. So the typical Datejust dial structure the basic style is we have the index crown logo at the twelve o'clock position. And then we have the hour markers specifically for the index hour markers they are fashioned in 18 karat white gold to prevent any tarnishing. And that can be matched by the hands as well we have luminous tips on the hands fashioned in 18 karat white gold as well. The luminosity on those index hour markers and the hands will last for up to eight hours so you have high visibility in the dark as well as during the day as well. We have the date window at the three o'clock position. With a Cyclops lens on top of the sapphire crystal for easier viewing and magnification of that date. One thing I want to mention is that specifically for the Datejust 36 is that it has something called the Roulette Date and I will go ahead and demonstrate that to you now. So, let me move this hand out of the way here. So taking a look at the three o'clock position that date window. We'll go ahead and change the date and you'll see that every time I change the date every other number is a red color. So we have black, red, black, red and that's what the Roulette Date is. Okay, basically odd numbers are red even numbers are black. Okay, so specifically for dial configuration I have in my hand we have the blue dial as you can see, nice blue color with index hour markers, specifically for the index hour markers you can get the index hour markers in a different color as well for the dial colors you're looking at silver, white black, blue, or pink. For Roman numerals instead of the index hour markers you're looking at silver, white, black blue or pink as well. For Arabic numerals only black, only a black dial or a silver dial with blue Arabic numerals. For floral, it's a specific patterning to the Datejust if you're looking for a more feminine looking watch you can get the floral patterning and background where it has floral patterns on the back of the watch and it's kind of raised a little bit so it has a little dimension to the floral patterning. And it looks absolutely gorgeous you can get that in a pink, silver, or brown. Of course you can always go more luxurious with Datejust watches as these are dress watches. So you can add diamond hour markers on a blue black, silver, or pink dial for an additional 2,000 on the retail pricing. Or you can go with diamond and mother of pearl and you can get that in either the white mother of pearl or dark mother of pearl. Okay, moving on to the bezel now we have a nice fluted 18 karat white gold bezel. It's a fixed bezel so it doesn't shift around anywhere you can see it captures light very nicely around that bezel. That matches perfectly with the case as well the case lugs are nicely high polished. As we move on to the case you can see that nice high polish on the lugs of the case matching with that fluted bezel. The case size as the name states is a 36 millimeter case so Datejust 36 36 millimeter case from my index finger to my thumb here that's 36 millimeters in diameter. The side of the case nicely high polished matching with the bracelet as well. On the other side nice high polish matching with the bracelet. Rolex crown logo on the crown itself. The crown is a screw down, twin lock, double waterproofing system helps keep this watch water resistant to 100 meters or 330 feet. Has some very simple functions of changing the date and setting the time. So let me actually go ahead and show you those functions. So unscrewing the crown counter clockwise puts it in the first position which you can wind the watch. 15, 20 times is all you need from a dead stop to get the watch going once more. Tugging the crown out just very gently once again you can change the date. And pulling that crown out to the final position will let you go ahead and allow you to set the time however you like. Hands are bi-directional. However the second hand will be stopped in this final position as to allow for precise timekeeping such as to an atomic clock online you can set the time down to the exact seconds. Pressing the crown back in will start that second hand once more. And always make sure to screw the crown nice and tight against the case to keep this watch nice and protected and hold its water resistance. Okay, moving on to the bracelet now the bracelet is a Jubilee style bracelet which is a five piece link bracelet developed by Rolex. Very beautiful, satin finish brushed steel on the outer of the five piece while the center three piece links are nicely high polished throughout the whole bracelet as I shift that around there. Nice, one uniform pattern only to be broken by the concealed Rolex crown clasp. This is where the clasp is located at this little Rolex logo. And it opens up as so. To reveal these nicely high polished clasp blades with the Rolex name embossed on there. Once again I will show you that with that closed. You can see that the clasp is hidden nicely behind the Jubilee bracelet. To keep that nice patterning throughout the whole bracelet. Alright, so let's go ahead and talk about the movement now. So the movement of this watch is housed in this beautiful Oyster case backing. It's one of Rolex's tried and tested movements for over 30 years now. So you know this a very, very, reliable movement. It's a perpetual mechanical self-winding movement. It's Rolex's in house made Caliber 3135 movement. And it has the functions that are the hour minutes and seconds hands with instantaneous changing of the date with rapid setting and stopping of the second hand for precise time setting as I've shown you with the crown functions. The oscillator is a paramagnetic Blue Parachrom hairspring which allows for resistance against magnetism. And the power reserve of this watch is 48 hours. Meaning you can put this watch down on a Friday evening pick it back up on a Sunday afternoon and it will be keeping time just fine. Okay, now let actually go ahead and show you this watch on my wrist. One thing to keep in mind is I do have an average man sized wrist which is a seven inch wrist. So, as you can see a little bit of wiggle room there. And there's the watch. Beautiful blue dial, nice index markers absolutely gorgeous fluted bezel in 18 karat white gold. The profile of the watch not too high sits on the wrist very nicely will fit under suit cuffs dress cuffs very nicely.
