Hey guys, this is Kevin from Jaztime.com, and today, we'll be reviewing the Rolex Datejust 41. The reference number for this watch is 126333. We'll be going over the price, the dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp. I will talk about the movement towards the end of the video. All right, so as of September 2017 you can get this from an authorized Rolex retailer for $12,050, or you can come to Jaztime.com and get it for as low as $9,600. Moving on to the dial now, the Datejust 41 only comes in a few configurations, specifically, for the index configurations, which are these hour markers with the luminosity in each hour marker, which is a highly legible Chromalight display with long lasting blue luminescence fashioned in 18 karat yellow gold. The only other dial colors you can get this watch in are champagne, white, and black. If you're feeling a little more luxurious, then you can get it in a white mother of pearl, champagne, or black dial. There's also a special version for Roman numerals if you like Roman numerals. That's a silver dial with green Roman numerals, and an index white nine as shown here at the 9:00 position, same as well. All right, besides that, the Datejust is a fairly simple watch. Like I said, we have the hour markers, the index hour markers fashioned in 18 karat yellow gold. We have the hands fully furnished out of the 18 karat yellow gold as well with the tips of the hands having that glow in the dark properties as well with that highly legible Chromalight display. As I said, it is a blue luminescent, so when this watch is in the dark, it's going to glow a blue. OK, as I said, you have the date at the 3:00 position with a Cyclops lens on top of that sapphire crystal for magnification and easier viewing of that date. We just have the 60 second scale along the edge of the dial. Moving on to the bezel now. The bezel is just a very simple fixed 18 karat yellow gold bezel. As you can see, that flutedness shines in different portions of the flutedness, and is very beautiful. One thing to mention as we move on to the case now, for the bezel and the case for the Datejust 41, they've actually been updated to a thinner bezel and a thinner case. The previous model was the 116333, one reference number down. You can actually check that out on our YouTube channel, we have a comparison between the Datejust 41 and the Datejust II, which was the previous model before this one. Like I said, they have updated the bezel and the case to be a bit thinner. All right, besides that, for the case size, you're looking at a 41 millimeter case, so from my index finger to my thumb here, that's 41 millimeters in diameter. The side of the case, very beautiful high polish, not too high of a profile, will fit under suit coats, dress coats very nicely. The high polish is also patterned with the side of the bracelet with the high polish on the side of the links, matching very nicely. On the other side of the watch, once again, same thing, high polish on the side of the case matching to the bracelet. The crown in the center of the case with the Rolex crown logo on it. The crown itself, it's a 18 karat yellow gold crown, is a screw down to unlock double waterproofness system. It unwinds counterclockwise, as shown, into the first position. This is the first position in which the watch can be wound. From a dead stop, 15 to 20 times is all you need going clockwise. OK, and that's all you need to start the watch up from a dead stop. A simple tug of the crown will allow you to adjust the date instantaneously as shown, right here at the 3:00 position. OK, and then finally, tugging out the crown once more will stop the seconds hand or the hack movement, go ahead and show you that once more. See that hand start, and pull to the final position will stop it, and allows for setting of the hands bidirectionally as shown. The stopping the seconds hands is important if you want to set the precise time setting, such as to an atomic clock online or you want to set it to your iPhone time, you can set it down to the exact seconds. Pressing the crown back in will start that seconds or hack movement once more. Always make sure to screw the crown nice and tight in against the case, as it will keep this watch water resistant for 100 meters or 330 feet. All right, moving on to the bracelet now, we have a very beautiful Jubilee bracelet which is a five piece link bracelet. Two of the links, the outer links, are brushed steel or sand finish, and that is the 904L steel, which is a Rolex in house made steel with additional corrosion resistance. The use of the steel and yellow gold together, not necessarily mixed together, but the use of the two metals is what Rolex likes to call the Rolesor. The two tone watches are referred to as a Rolesor watch. In the center of these five piece links, we have a nice beautiful 18 karat high polished yellow gold, and that patterns all the way throughout the bracelet as shown. One difference that they've done on the Datejust 41, though, is that they've actually used a full on folding Oyster clasp instead of having the patterned Jubilee bracelet patterned throughout the five piece links in one full nice looking pattern. They've actually updated it with a clasp instead. The clasp is a very simple clasp, it's just a folding Oyster clasp, as shown. Just opens up, just by tugging on it. We have the Rolex name embossed onto this high polished clasp blade. Underneath the clasp itself, pulling at a 45 degree angle, can pop that bracelet out a little bit, and this has a feature which Rolex calls the Easylink in which you can adjust the bracelet five millimeters forward or backwards. Unfortunately, you'll have to use a tool to do that, but it is a very handy feature to have if it's a hot summer day, then your wrist will swell up and then the watch might feel a little bit too tight on your wrist, you can adjust it, adjust it to have a little more comfortability as far as your wrist, and vice versa, for colder days, you don't want the watch to be shaking around. You can adjust it to be a little bit tighter. All right, so moving on to the movement now, the movement is housed in this very simple Oyster case backing. It is Rolex's newer updated movement based on their flagship model the Day-Date President, which has a 3255 movement, this is the 3235 movement, which they've updated with a Chronergy escapement, which is a skeletonized escape wheel made out of a phosphorus nickel, which adds additional resistance to magnetism, and at 50% more energy efficiency because of the skeletonization of the escape wheel. Besides that, it is still a perpetual mechanical self-winding movement, as I said before, is a caliber 3235 in house made movement, and it is under COSC, our superlative chronometer certification, which is the minus two plus two seconds a day, has a functions of the center hour, minute, seconds hand where its intent is changing of the date and stopping the seconds hand, as I've shown you with the crown for precise time setting. The oscillator is a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, which adds additional resistance against magnetism. But one of the main, another thing because of those changes with the updated movement is that the power reserve has gone from a 48 hour power reserve to a 70 hour power reserve. That 70 hours means you can put this watch down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Monday afternoon and it'll still be keeping time just fine. OK, so let's go ahead and show this watch on the wrist now. Very simple, folding Oyster, as shown. OK, wrong way here. All right, and there's the watch on the wrist. Absolutely beautiful watch. That 18 karat fashion on those index markers really makes the dial pop a bit more.
