And if you'd like to know the price, simply click on links in a description below. We greatly appreciate you if you purchase your next watch from us at JazTime dot com. Today, we'll be taking a look at the IWC. This one is the aqua timer with the Jacque-Yves Cousteau special edition. This one, the reference number I W 3 7 6 8 0 5 currently out of production, but we still have it here at JazTime. As you can see, this one has a nice blue dial fully luminescent. Actually I'll show you in a bit, 44 millimeter diameter case size. I'll be going over all of the features of this watch, including the case, the bezel, the dial, the crown functions, as well as the movement and the strap. And of course, there's Jacques-Yves Cousteau right there on the back. So starting off with the case here, we have 44 millimeters from finger to thumb. That's the two o'clock to eight o'clock position. Also the same as from the ten to four o'clock position, you have a full stainless steel construction here, a little bit cropped on the lugs there but angled quite sharply could be just due to their presentation. They do look quite sturdy and they very much hold their own. Looking here at the side of the case, we have a satin brush finish here, going along the side as well as on the nine o'clock sign. And also along the front of the case but there's a very slight high polish on that bevel, and very slightly going around the edge of the case there. So it has a little bit of the highlights sort of giving it a somewhat modular look to it. And here on the bezel, we have the same sort of sentiment, that sort of bevel there, that sort of has that high polish but the rest of it all satin brush finished gives a very nice interesting presentation and quite distinctive in its own right. And here the bezel quite interestingly a technically bidirectional, but only unidirectional, rotatable bezel. The bezel itself only really on the inside when it comes to the detailing. The first 15 minutes are actually marked for diving. This is a diving bezel and also an impromptu 60 minute timer. If you set this zero mark to the minute hand there, you can count the first 15 minutes when you're doing your diving as well because those are the most crucial for your decompression stops. And this the outer portion, the steel portion of this bezel allows you to basically keep a hold of the bezel entirely as you rotate around as necessary. All right, there we go. Not entirely. Not exactly perfect. I need to get this perfect. Okay, there we go. And so take a look at that bezel. It does have its own finish in there as well, sort of like a Sunray finish and also the dial itself, a highly reflective look there with all the sub dials in there. The 60 minute or 62nd, the small seconds at the nine o'clock with its own red hand there nicely standing out against the backdrop, even though it is an actual it's not actually red, it's actually orange, but when it comes to the color compliments here. Orange actually stands out better without actually stabbing you in the eyes. The chronograph hand as well, orange tipped as well pressing the chronograph hand at the two o'clock position starts it up. You have the large, small or the large center mounted seconds hand should you so desire. 30 minute timer and 12 hour timer for the chronograph as well. Ticks up when the center rounded chronograph travels and makes its revolutions. Day and date apertures, interestingly enough, included on this dial as well, as if you couldn't include enough on a chronograph. Not only do you have a chronograph, but you also have a dive bezel. This basically keeps track of time in every single aspect including the day and the day. So this is a watch that gives you pretty much everything except for GMT functionality or even an annual calendar, or if you want to go crazy, maybe even a Turbion but certainly this one, a very good model for just simply having everything in one place. Press the top button again to stop the chronograph, press the bottom button to reset it and the other chronograph dials nice and easy. Unwind the crown at the three o'clock position. This allows you to wind the watch. So if you're at a dead stop, about 20 to 30 full winds gets you to the full power reserve feel the damping and the resistance starting to ramp up. That's when you can stop. Pull the crown out to the next position, you can advance the date forward by rotating the crown clockwise, about it's a less than a quarter turn. It's about a little tick each time almost to advance it by one and rotate the opposite direction counterclockwise to advance the day backwards, right? And this is quite an interesting feature here, because this allows you to basically set the day properly. If you don't happen to know exactly where you are on the 24 hour cycle on this 12 hour dial. So if you set your time or you set your day previously, you can then just push your minute hand all the way around by pulling a crown out to the final position. It also stops that second hand. So you can have the full control of the time setting functionality, make that our hand move past midnight and there you go. There's your actual day for the current day as you set the day and the date properly, rather simple there, let the seconds hand of an atomic clock synchronize up with your seconds hand, make sure your minutes set in the proper position and just simply press that crown back in, screw it back tight against the case to ensure up to 30 bars of water resistance. That's basically 300 meters below sea level, a thousand feet. This is a dive watch. They can certainly take underwater quite far, Now taking a look well, you can't really see it through a case back, but the movement is in there, the 79320 caliber, automatic self lining caliber with 44 hours of power reserve beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour or four Hertz, 240 components 25 of which are jewels and with Côtes de Genève in there, but you can't see it. You do have the likeness of Jacques-Yves Cousteau there, however with his red cap as well. You also have a strap here, if you were to zoom out, we have a black rubber strap with a quite an interesting texture gives it a very good sense of grip there. And it's very good in that regard. The sizing holes here are also actually angled. So you do have a very good angle on them, basically to keep it nicely anchored onto your wrist. Also, these little raised bumps on the strap here keep the wrist vented quite nicely and provide extra grip. If you were to have this say, on your wetsuit and speaking of which trying it on my wrist, I showed you a little bit earlier at the beginning of this video. Well basically I can size it to the smallest hole and it will still actually fit me because my wrist seven inches in circumference. This watch the case 44 millimeters, 17 millimeters thick. It's a big boy. It's a chunker, not gonna fit in under a suit cuff, but a jacket sleeve definitely. And this will definitely fit over a wetsuit should you so desire to wear it out and for good reason, it's a very good Utilitarian watch. It has everything that you'll need. If you ever happen to dive or just need to keep track of time in general, it has all the functionality there. I already show you all of that. Again, looking down the edge of this watch, I did say that these do the lugs do sort of turn downward rather sharply. And that's just so that it grips the wrist very nicely. And that's only really due to the outer, the top portions of the lugs bottom, they're not actually so slanted downward that they dig into your wrist, even if you have a flatter wrist or a larger wrist than seven inches in circumference. If you have a wrist larger than seven inches, you can certainly wear this. I can't really recommend it for anyone with a smaller wrist, but you know, if you want this watch and you still have a smaller wrist than I do, well, you can get that absolute wrist presence of an absolute chunker of a time piece on your wrist showing that you are certainly in charge and in business. This one gives you everything you need. The little channelings of the underside of the strap. actually do raise the strap quite a bit, that I can actually wear this all day. I can recommend this for an all day wear and it's incredibly comfortable, and quite soft on the wrist. And the way that the sizing hole is here actually reinforced, allows it for extra longevity over time. IWC logo on that buckle as well as well, stainless steel in its construction. Basically the same satin brush finish on all the major surfaces with a nice high polish on that bevel. But enough of what I think, what do you guys think about this watch? let us know down the comments below, what you think about this absolutely beautiful, Jacques-Yves Cousteau edition of the IWC Aqua timer, the chronograph edition.
