As a result, it has been marketed as an ideal traveller&#8217;s watch.<\/p>\n<p>Until this year, the Sky Dweller was only available in precious metals like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/rolex-sky-dweller-326135-sundust-silver-18k-rose-gold-42mm-leather-brand-new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Everose gold<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/rolex-sky-dweller-326939-men-s-42mm-ivory-roman-18k-white-gold-oyster-brand-new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">white gold<\/a> and yellow gold, often retailing upwards of $45,000. At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baselworld.com\/en-US.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baselworld 2017<\/a>, however, the manufacturer introduced two new versions, featuring combinations of gold and stainless steel, giving them a more accessible price.<\/p>\n<p>Here, we take a closer look at the two new models and what they have to offer.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"visually-stunning-two-tone-rolesor-models\">Visually Stunning Two-tone &#8220;Rolesor&#8221; Models<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1882 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/New-Rolex-Sea-Dweller-Baselworld-2017.jpg\" alt=\"New Rolex Sea-Dweller Baselworld 2017\" width=\"720\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/New-Rolex-Sea-Dweller-Baselworld-2017.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/New-Rolex-Sea-Dweller-Baselworld-2017-300x146.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Both of the new 2017 Sky Dweller models are made from a two-tone combination of 904L stainless steel and either 18k yellow gold (Ref. 326933) or 18k white gold (Ref. 326934). These two-tone combinations are both referred to by the brand as &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/rolex-datejust-ii-116333-black-arabic-yellow-gold-stainless-steel-oyster-men-s-41mm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rolesor<\/a>&#8216;, although the combinations are actually quite different.<\/p>\n<p>In the yellow gold version, the bezel, winding crown and the central links of the bracelet are all made from yellow gold, while the rest of the case and the links on the left and right of the bracelet are made from steel. On the other hand, only the bezel is constructed from white gold on the other model.<\/p>\n<p>What this means is that, from a visual perspective, the steel and yellow gold model resembles a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/rolex-submariner-116613-116613lb-ceramic-dark-blue-yellow-gold-stainless-steel-brand-new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">classic two-tone timepiece<\/a>, while the steel and white gold model looks, to the casual observer, closer to a pure steel model.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"newly-updated-design-and-features\">Newly Updated Design and Features<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1883 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/New-Rolex-Skydweller-Baselworld-2017.jpg\" alt=\"New Rolex Skydweller Baselworld 2017\" width=\"720\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/New-Rolex-Skydweller-Baselworld-2017.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.jaztime.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/New-Rolex-Skydweller-Baselworld-2017-300x142.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Both of the new releases feature slightly updated aesthetics. For example, the central hands have been extended slightly, while the dial markers have been changed from either Arabic or Roman numerals, to applied rectangular indexes, giving the timepieces a slightly more understated appearance.<\/p>\n<p>There are also a number of dial colors to choose from, with white, blue, and grey options for the white gold model, and white, champagne and grey options for the yellow gold model.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of features, both versions are powered by the highly advanced, self-winding Calibre 9001, which has seven patents and is Superlative Chronometer certified.
